At that moment in time, anyone who had particularly good hearing or was paying close attention to the noises around the island might have been alerted to a sound. An almost high-pitched crackling, not unlike those you would hear around or near an electrified fence. It was a peculiar sound, and would make most a little nervous of some sort of oncoming lightning strike. But, today at least, that was not the case.
No, at the moment the noise was originating from an odd source. And that source, of course, would be Killua. The boy was covered in electricity, a giddy smile on his face as he flashed from one point of the island to another, barely staying a fraction of a second in one place. He was taking in every decoration, every sign of the festivity that had draped over the small world he was now home to overnight, filling him with a sense of excitement and glee. The holiday that had everyone hyped up was, indeed, one he had rarely heard of, and definitely hadn't celebrated himself. And the news of it had immediately peeked his curiosity, causing him to glance outside of his apartment to see the changes made.
They had thrilled him.
And so anyone who happened to glimpse him as he seemed to teleport from one end of the island to the other in a single instant, leaving only a slight ghost of curling electricity in his wake, would most likely be confused. Well, he wouldn't blame them. But he was simply too excited to care. Adrenaline was flushing through his veins and joy was filling his eyes, making him nearly jump up and down. He wanted to celebrate this with people he knew. Images of Alluka, Kurapika, and Morgiana flickered through his mind, going as fast as he was. Thoughts of Gon were brief and painful, so he pushed them to the back of his mind. He'd find people to share his excitement with later.
But, for now, a single crackle and a footstep brought him right in front of the Rocketpunch Market, another brief disappearance bringing him in front of the potions that were now displayed on the shelves, gleaming in the reflection of the light he was giving off. He was grinning kind of like an idiot, A flicker of bright blue eyes brought his attention to a single potion, the label catching his attention. A speed potion. Hahaha. Well, he supposed there was no harm in trying it.
He swiped it in a split second, still coated with Godspeed, and in a single gulp, it disappeared down his throat.
And then, like the contents of the vial, Killua Zoldyck disappeared.
