i have a thought but the best way i can word it in short is like "its so wild how act 6 of friendship test happens right before act 7" which means nothing
friendship test really goes okay so we are slowly giving you individual puzzle pieces of the picture that is the relationship between the main protag and the main villain but it doesnt all quite come together Yet. and then you get to act 6 and its like ok so heres the secondary villain who is very motivated by his love and emotions and he abuses and dehumanizes his best friend partially because theyre loveless. and then you get to act 7 which gears up to tie together the full picture of that first relationship and its like hey so do you remember the previous act,

not to be unwell about the secret lab but god the blue room really is just a fucking metaphor for void and nicks relationship im going to be sick
its implied that it has been a repeated pattern in the past for nick to demoralize void by putting them in the blue room and telling them to stay there. and he doesnt technically do anything to force them to stay there, void could probably leave at any time. but they dont. and they might even lock themself in. "if you hate this place so much just leave" and they dont.
the blue room is also implied to have been a break room and to have been where the movie night entry took place. its a place of good and peaceful moments and memories too. this one place has both good and bad associations tied to it. it is both traumatic and comforting.

I was forcing myself to keep my post about choice and autonomy in Friendship Test limited to just talking about Tori and Nick because that was the original goal but one of the things I was really tempted to add was talking about how the Bowling Team are kinda the perfect example of displaying the difference between choice and autonomy.
Their choices were influenced by a lack of autonomy through external factors, but they were still their choices to make. In fact, the acknowledgement of capability of choice is essential to Sparks' arc.
I wonder how widely known of a fact it is that Tori killed the scientists. Or like how much it's actually talked about in the wider labs. It has interesting implications with the scientists being considered near universially bad but Tori also taking her choice to kill them as a sign of her being morally corrupt.
I think I just like the idea of it being sort of a taboo subject. Because it probably would be. I just don't remember if there is anything indicating or denying that it could be like, common knowledge.

loved ones of tori's who temporarily died which was deeply traumatizing to her and initially knew about each other through her telling them about the other. they both get fucked over by the friendship labs system and their relationships with tori are further damaged by the actions she takes out of fear of causing them harm. theyre initially set up to be on the same page in the story and both blame themselves for tori getting worse and the labs being in a shit state in general. they have also both lashed out against the scientists for harming the animal experiments which makes me wonder if tori leaving the animals be is also partially motivated by enemy, though theres not as much of an emphasis of her having a connection with animals as fp.

Some thoughts about how the loveless siblings have different views on family/familial relationships, and how Void specifically approaches relationships in general by extension.
Clover sees some inherent connection in family. They are quick to latch onto FriendProgram, especially when they find out they're related.
They're also excited to share similarities with FP. The similarity in this particular example being that Clover has come to terms with being loveless, which they were in denial about. But knowing that it's something they share with FP and Void helped them against that.
And despite not being on great terms with FP and there not being much of an impression of their relationship with Void, they're eager to get an opportunity to bond with the both of them.
FP uses the label of family as a very neutral and objective descriptor. They have family because they are technologically related to other programs, but that's about it.
Several times throughout the game we see them refer to having family (outside of just Void) but there comes no inherent positive connection with that. FP is on good terms with Void but this clearly has nothing to do with their family relation, but the fact that the both of them tried to support one another.
Void, on the contrary, straight up doesn't acknowledge having any family outside of FP in the main game.
To them, family isn't a neutral descriptor, nor do they see inherent connection in technological relation. "Family" is a convenient label to apply to programs they get along with who also happen to be related to them.
I think in general Void likes to use convenient labels to describe their relationships with programs they are on good terms with. They presumably know that there are programs who don't want friendship through Vents and FP, but (before fully knowing who FP is) they quickly latch onto them as a potential friend, and later best friend.
And they also (if hesitantly) express that they view Half and Sparks as their friends, even if they're not sure it's reciprocated, and closely tie the idea of being their friend with having a positive connection with them.
I think Void being quick to call someone who just gives them consideration their friend while simultaneously hesitating to call most programs they know their friends definitly has to do with both the way the labs value friendships (and devalue less conventional relationships), and also with how Void has been conditioned to believe that they can't live up to being worthy of this type of relationship.
This doesn't mean they're not still valid in desiring friendships though, and I can imagine them post main game still using the term friend somewhat loosely and having a tendency for labelling their positive relationships, but I also like the potential development I'm reading into here of e.g. Off and Vents being programs who aren't family and would never describe their relationship to Void as friendship, but undoubtedly still value them.

sorry i have voids relationships and their understanding of them on the mind rn. its messed up how during main game theyre like haha yeah idk if the program who generally shows concern for me and the program who lets me ramble to him for hours consider me a friend. im def friends with the guy who smashed my face in and regularly demeans me though. void my friend you are a boiled frog.
