Very quiet to the days leading up to the Proposal. You ask him why he's so quiet, he just kisses your cheek and walks away.
He tries to avoid you as best he can, feeding more often, taking more work in, etc etc.. because he's a horrible liar when it comes to you.
He definitely hurts your feelings for that month and a half of planning. Completely on accident, though. He seriously doesn't mean to hurt you or get you upset, but he can't be around you or he'll spill everything!
The night of the Proposal, he takes you out to the middle of the woods, where he has decorated a circle of trees to have fairy lights and lanterns hung from the branches. A picnic blanket positioned in the middle of the tree circle, with food and drinks, stuffed animals positioned around the blanket as well as pillows and blankets.
After an amazing dinner, he turned to you and kneeled on one knee, taking out a ring box
The ring was silver with obsidian and sapphire gems encrusted into it. It was beautiful.
When you say yes, he takes you home and ravages you to make up for the quietness, avoidance, and overall, just the hurt he caused you. He took care of you.
Jittery and unable to sit still for the entire month of planning before the actual proposal.
He can't sit still or stop talking about his plans for the proposal.
Absolutely adorable, super sweet and attentive the entire month, unable to keep away from you no matter how hard he tries.
You eventually end up hearing his plans, but you don't understand what the plans are for, queue Toby being nervous and twitchy as you push for answers.
You eventually give up, but not after almost giving him a heart attack and a panic attack at the same time.
When the day comes, it's just a regular day to you. Nothing special planned at all. But that IS the plan. To make it sudden and shocking.
You were literally just baking cookies for when Tim and Brian come over later that day, when he gets on one knee in the middle of the kitchen. You basically scream.
It was definitely shocking because you dropped the cookie sheet and the dough rolled onto the floor :(
You didn't give a shit, though, because you were balling your eyes out as he slipped the gold ring with amber encrusted in it on.
He then holds you on the couch for the rest of the day, not bothered by Tim and Brian teasing you both all night.
Gentleman all month. Absolute gentleman.
Treats you like a princess all month, with you completely unaware and confused by his sudden need to be sweet. But he's always sweet, so you don't mind it.
Although he's an even bigger sweetheart, he also snaps a lot easier, and fucks you a lot more. The stress to make it all perfect was eating at him.
He also smokes a lot more because of the stress. He tries to keep the smoke outside, but it's hard when it's so often.
He quietly talks to Brian about his plan for the Proposal, as quietly as possible or outside.
Holds you close and goes quiet when you wonder what he's up to. He needed it to be a surprise, but he knew he couldn't keep a secret from his love.
Gets antsy and a lot more distant the day before his proposal. You get sad and question him more, which makes him leave for the rest of the day, making you MORE sad.
The day of, he takes you out to treat you to food, a spa day, and then to the park, where you both first met.
He proposes with a beautiful silver ring with Opal encrusted in it. It was beautiful.
He couldn't have been more happy seeing you cry in his life.
Took you home after and cuddled all night, taking the next day off to be with you.
