Quick Note About AI!
I’ve been seeing talk about AI generated images here lately (Edit: I've also seen an uptick in AI generated images, as well). Just FYI:
I personally never (knowingly) post or repost AI generated media here. As a designer, I hate generative art. It’s soulless, it takes opportunity away from real artists, and it uses existing artists' work without permission.
In 2024, I started experimenting with AI tools for image/video refinement (here’s a post about that). Rest assured I've only used these tools to occasionally upscale, sharpen or increase the frame rate of old, low-res 80s images and videos. To date, I've only done this a handful of times, and each time the post is labeled accordingly.
Images and videos from the 1980s tend to be rough (lol). It’s nice to have tools to clean them up - but I don’t “rely” on these tools and I certainly have no plans to post images created with AI.
