Note: this could very well be from sometime in the early 2000s, but a zoom-in on the back left corner of the game floor shows cylindrical signage that looks like it says 'Mohegan' and appears to be of a 90s-type font, and then on the right side are all those slot machines that aren't digital video ones, which leads me to believe that this was most likely taken in the 90s. The place opened in October of 1996, so it might be from back then. Anyone who might know for sure is free to provide more info.

This mall has had a few different names over the years. Now it's called the Solano Town Center, but it used to be called the Westfield Solano, the Solano Mall, or just the Fairfield Mall because of the city it's located in. The Macy's is still there.

Game Genie for Super NES commercial [1993]

Game Genie was a revelatory invention that basically hacked into a videogame and enabled modifications in order to make the gameplay easier. You could change a game's settings to make a character jump higher or give them more lives, etc. You could also unlock unfinished and hidden levels that weren't meant to be accessed, but were stored on the cartridge anyway. Game Genie started being issued for the NES by the Galoob toy company in the US and Camerica in Canada. Nintendo hated it and launched a lawsuit against it, but it failed, and that then enabled Game Genie to be used for other consoles too, like Sega Genesis as well as different handheld systems. You attached it to the cartridge, inserted it into the system, entered relevant codes that pertained to the game that you obtained from a codebook, and then the Genie worked its magic to make the changes to 'enhance' your gameplay. A pretty amazing piece of tech.
