this is a new character I created, although she was initially mentioned in super mario odyssey's moon kingdom brochure. i was always curious about who the legendary moon goddess was, so i had to draw my take on how i think she'd look
lucine is very sociable and fluent in many languages due to speaking to travellers from across the galaxy. she watches over the moon, so who knows where she was during the whole bowser & peach wedding debacle... perhaps she was on the dark side dealing with the broodals and negotiating with them.
she is able to transform based on the state and phase of the moon, so i included her "lunar eclipse form" to show how she may appear when there is a lunar eclipse. she can also turn into a bunny to blend in with the other moon-dwellers since for some reason there's a lot of rabbits that live on the moon.
i don't think lucine was always a goddess, but she wasn't the type to "ascend" to a godlike level, as julia and nova did. i think in one way or another, she was destined to take on the role, the descendant of elder gods who went on to become stars.
moonlings are the lumas of the moon, but they're not as common as the lumas. they don't just live on *the* moon, they live on most moons of other planets. I initially created them as Wahzalina's (yes, a Wario version of Rosalina) assistants. As the opposite of Rosalina, she was incredibly lazy and had them do everything for her. Perhaps I will bring her back and expand on this piece of lore.
