If you truly take a look at the history of this great nation, you'll see that at the very core of it is civil disobedience. If you do not understand the tactics, the reasons, and the community that people get from protests and marches, it means you are privileged. You don't understand what it means to have your very basic rights threatened, and you don't understand the solidarity and solace it brings the voiceless. And that's not a bad thing. It's not a crime to have a good life, or to not experience oppression, but when you belittle and devalue the civil disobedience of others you're telling them their experiences are exaggerated or fictitious and that's not okay. If you care about someone that cares about these things, join them on the floor. See the people that are there. Feel the power of community. Did a 24hr trip to the bay to meet up with one of the most woke Queens I personally have the pleasure of knowing, @jayda_kissed. It's funny because there's little physical proof of our friendship; we don't blow up each other's social media, I have no pictures with/of you to post, because when I'm around you I just want to be engulfed in conversation, thought, and the moment. There are few people that captivate my deepest interests so thoroughly, and I appreciate what you bring to my life. The best decisions for ourselves are rarely the easiest to make. I've been intentionally single for a pretty long time because I decided I wanted to focus on stronger relationships with many people, not just one. It's been one helluva experience that has made me see the world and people differently. The one thing that doesn't change however, is how hard it is when we grow apart from people we were one close with. I think there's a blurred line between perseverance and being taken for granted, and at the end of the day it comes down to your own tolerance for it. You need to decide how much you have to give, you need to decide when you've run out, and you need to decide to accept the results of your choices knowing you did what felt right in that moment. People that are taken for granted, are taken for granted most of their lives. It's something they're familiar with and have come to accept, but that doesn't mean it gets any less tiring or easier to swallow. Just don't forget, even the strongest and kindest of us need to be uplifted just as much as everyone else. Reach out to that person and let them know you appreciate them, just because. ✌ #egodeath #thisisyoursign

We're all gonna make mistakes, but it's important to accept that what's done is done. At the end of the night, understand you did everything you could have. If you feel like you could have done better/more, wake up the next morning with the intention of being better than you were yesterday. Pick one thing and go with it until you have it down, then pick another thing. These cycles are a natural product of life and learning through experience, it's a byproduct of a world that is so heavily influenced by social interaction. When we can accept that, we can put the energy we spend thinking "why did this happen to me?" into "what can I personally do to be ok the next thing something like this happens?"
