ITS ME :D!!!

Okay so admittedly this is going a little bit into my personal au, which I haven’t posted a lot about but for some context, I take inspiration from the Sonic SATAM and OVA so post apocalyptic, sci fi, all that jazz

FOR THE ART ABOVE!! Specifically the last, I imagine they’re rummaging through old rubble and bam they found cool stuff

But generally I like them because they’re pretty different, opposites attract type vibes (u can’t blame me I was like a big errorink shipper when I was younger lol)

Amy is way more emotional, which isn’t bad, I feel like that helps her connect with others like when shadow decided to lock in and not kill people and when she convinced gamma to lock in too, I feel like she represents hope and love a lot

Sally on the other hand is more attuned to reason, for a princess her general personality makes sense, she’s very motherly (especially to tails) and takes on a lot of responsibility which definitely stresses her the fuck out 😭

Together I feel like they make a balance, like let’s say Sally gets a little too overwhelmed I think Amy would be pretty good to help her take a chill pill,

although I could definitely see this also being an obstacle cuz like sometimes ur too busy to kiss ur lovely lady and Amy is defo clingy

And for Amy I think it’d be pretty easy for her to get like mega pissed off and Sally would talk her into calming down(I’m quite fond of a hotheaded Amy lol)

ALSO!!!

Squirrels and chipmunks (which I hc Sally as both) engage in chase a form of mating display and

ALLL im saying i think it’d be cute to think Amy expecting to be the purser and suddenly have the tables turned on her, like listen guys listen to me

I will say dbd is WAYYY MORE BALANCED HOLLYYYYY HELLLL yeah im playing killer way more hello!!!!

Like I see a lot of people say it’s survivor sided, it may be, but compared to idv it’s like an angel sent from above like woah guyse… I can actually make mistakes and not get fucked in the ass ❤️ 😭 🥹 (admittedly the current event could use some work but I’ll take it)

Honestly my reviews about both lowkey

Dbd: casual, semi relaxed player base, constantly changing maps(me like), majority adult fanbase, can use other survivors w different builds, longer matches

Idv: competitive, diverse abilities, survivor sided definitely, lots of game modes, evil playerbase, majority teen/tween fanbase, shorter matches

Just kinda what I noticed, of course these r all generalizations and obviously some outliers encountered but yk, I will say not to dunk on dbd players at all but I do see why some dbd players struggle with the switch to idv and not vice versa

It’s likely because in dbd the killers/survivors capabilities are all actually pretty limited compared to idv,

Idv takes a LOTTTT of memorization when it comes to the abilities of characters and how to combat them+ it’s quicker paced, honestly if ur tryna go from dbd to idv, PLAY CUSTOM MATCHES TO SEE WHAT THE CHARACTERS DO 🙏 trust me that helps u SO MUCH

I mean I definitely also struggled getting into dbd as a idv player but that’s mostly because I kinda expected all the killers to have such glaring differences before realized I could kite them kinda the same….

Although it could probably be a bit difficult for idv players when it comes to abilities because oooo dude u rely so much on ur characters abilities to get a win so that could also effect gameplay (im just guessing here tho cuz I didn’t struggle w that aspect)

Uhh okay so shades!!! We love bro at least I do lol

So identity issues I essentially always thought he struggled with this, and first in foremost I’m gonna go into the gender related stuff rq to expand my perspective a bit more since I know some hc shades as transgender (I enjoy this, just not my hc)

Personally I see him more as simply gender nonconforming and just queer, not a lot of labels

But anyways it’s pretty clear that shades definitely isn’t entirely strict to being a guy, I mean sure the cross dressing bit was played off as a joke but I love looking deeper idgaf, he clearly ended up taking fun in dressing more feminine, as when seen with knuckles, he clearly got a boost in confidence and u can’t tell me he didn’t have a bit of fun, which was a surprise upon his usual softer personality

(Of course he showcased bravery before with rescuing Amy albeit bawling his eyes out after lol)

Plus generally the activities he’s interested in tend to be more feminine leaning, as well as getting along more with the gals: Amy, rouge and cream, think vanilla too

I think as he observes more about the world he would definitely explore his gender expression, maybe go by she/they for awhile before deciding what he prefers, he strikes me as someone who’d be shocked at first but willing to learn and lean into it upon finding out more (I mean the whole “but I’m a boy!’ Objection to cream into actively having fun in that dress lol)

WHICCHH is why I totally see the transgender vision other people have #u guys cooked trust

Okay onto non gender related identity issues

So shades clearly is vastly different from shadow and I feel he would, in shorter words, essentially live in shadows shadow for quite some time if not most of his life

Like other people would definitely approach him like “OH MY GOD SHADOW WHATRE U DOING HERE WEARING THAG SWEATER LOL?!” And I’m sure after awhile, no matter how kind the rando would be, it would definitely get under his skin

Admittedly in one of the authors notes it’s mentioned that they intended for shades to take on a braver more heroic role and make Sonic feel bad for brushing off his friends, so I don’t think he’d remain soft and docile forever forever, but I think his sensitivity would remain, just that his bravery only really comes out during situations it’s needed in (like with Amy) although I think he fumbles through them only to somehow come out on top lol

I feel he’d develop really bad imposter syndrome (from fumbling through situations) and likely shame from not being as aurafarming as shadow

Plus side note, I like to believe his abilities sometimes malfunction due to him not having fully cooked in the capsule (he was released early)

And I know he definitely has a good support system I mean Amy, vanilla, and cream, but like, sometimes even with support shit still happens
