“Yeah, I know. I know! I shouldn’t be even thinkin’ ‘bout doin’ this. But he’s crossed the line.” He sighed, laughing a little when she tickled him – of course, she had to tickle him! And of course, he appreciated it, so he didn’t focus on his anger and their father too much. “I’m not worried, I’m fuckin’ pissed. He calls you, I’m gonna pick it up and tell him a few things,” he said bitterly. Lucky for Peter and for Skyler, Effy knew what to say and how to calm her brother’s nerves with ease. Maybe he needed her here now more than he’d thought…? Skyler pulled her even closer, kissing her forehead affectionately. “They don’t deserve you, Effy. I love you so much, so glad you’re here,” he said with a smile. Actually, it was the first time he told her he loved her… and it seemed to be the best moment to say it. 

“Good, you’re gonna like the food here. And I’m sure you’ll love your room; Penny’s taken care of the room and it looks amazin’.” He led her to the car and opened the trunk so they could put her luggage there, then got into the car. Once he picked the cd, they were ready to go. Penny had been waiting for them but Skyler needed to talk to Effy and tell her about a few things first, and he was sure he should do it alone.

All she could do was roll her eyes at Skyler's words. She knew best not to continue the topic now. Skyler just needs to let go of whatever troubled him now. "Okay, you will pick up the phone." She agreed with him, although the truth was that she wouldn't let him do it, or even let Skyler see that it was their father who was calling. Effy politely followed her brother to the car, and when she heard the words she dreamed of, her joy knew no boundaries. She couldn't begin to squeal with joy now. She had to remain calm and at least pretend her emotions were balanced so as not to be kicked out of their house after a few hours. "I know." she said with a disarming smile. "Penny wrote to me when I was at the airport. I can't wait to see the room and finally meet your chosen one of your heart. I have no idea how she gets along with you ..." her brother, kissing him on the cheek. "I love you too, Skyler. You changed my life for the better and I am so thankful for that. I will not let you regret having a sister." She smiled broadly and returned to her seat.

Just when he thought that the craziest things that could happen to him had already happened, Effy texted him, telling him she would be coming to Scranton. Which obviously moving in with him and Penny for a while. He didn’t mind, it was his sister after all, and she had visited him a few times already, but at that very moment, it felt like his life would turn upside down again. Skyler her Penny know he was heading to pick up Effy and fought the terrible idea of calling Peter to let him know he was a piece of shit and had made the biggest mistake in his life. Then he thought that if Peter or Allison ever came to Scranton or tried contacting him/them, he would be ready to face his demons, now that they hurt Effy so much.

He picked Effy out of the crowd almost immediately and when she ran to him so enthusiastically, he smiled at her, hugging her back. “Welcome back, darlin’,” he said with a bright smile, kissing her forehead. Taking her bag from her, Skyler wrapped one arm around her shoulders and let her walk by his side as they headed to the car. “I gotta say, I almost called Peter this mornin’,” he admitted with a sigh. “But I’ll wait ‘til he calls you instead… Anyway. Hungry? We can stop somewhere and eat, we’ve got some good places we could go to.”

The joy Effy felt was indescribable. She was very happy to be here with her brother, to stay with him, but on the other hand, she felt an unimaginable pain in her chest because of what happened with their parents this morning. She knew she shouldn't worry about it, and she didn't care, but ... it just came out that way. "What did you almost do !?" She looked at her brother with surprise, cuddling against his side, obviously unable not to tickle him on the other side. "Skyler, fuck him. Don't worry about anything, especially him, who doesn't deserve you." She waved her hand, and when she heard about the food, a wide smile crossed her face. "How do you know me!" She screamed and jumped on one leg. When they got to the car. "I could eat a wolf!"

"I hate you!" Effy screamed as she slipped her jacket on and bag over her shoulder. "You should be proud of him and be glad you have a son like Skyler!" Elizabeth looked at her parents one last time with pure hatred and slammed the door behind her. "Awesome ..." She muttered under her breath as the first drops of rain fell on her face. This, however, did not discourage her. Neither that, nor how she heard from her parents that if she left now, she might never come back. It was probably the first time she had seen them like this, and she honestly wondered why they didn't want Effy and Sky to be so close to each other. However, it did not bother her. The thought of seeing her brother soon filled her with great enthusiasm. Scranton international airport greeted her with sunny weather. She tried very hard not to jump of joy, but it didn't work out at all, and Effy looked like a schizophrenic epileptic who had just escaped from a mental hospital. She was holding a piece of paper with "Sky" written on it and when she finally saw her brother in the crowd, she couldn't hold it in anymore. "Skyler!" She screamed and, still holding the piece of paper with her brother's name on it, ran to Skyler and throwing her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. "I've missed you, bastard!" she said and ruffled Skyler's hair with a wide smile on her face.
