Driving down a highway at 11:54 pm with your boyfriend was not how you expected your day to go. You expected to have been studying for your upcoming test, or in your bed asleep. Instead, as you were getting ready to go to bed, you got a message from Shoyo, saying:

-  BABE COME OUTSIDE REAL QUICK

You look at the phone and then turn and peer outside your window. You notice an old pick up truck parked outside of your mailbox and a figure inside rapidly waving at you to come outside. Of course, your idiot boyfriend would appear at midnight looking for some company to do who knows what. You rolled your eyes and reply:

- Give me a second to put on some real clothes

As you quickly strip from your sleep clothes and throw on a sweater and a pair of shorts, your phone repeatedly lights up, from Shoyo spamming your phone:

- babe

- Babe

- BaBe

- BABE

- BABY

As you left your house and entered the truck, Shoyo presses a kiss to your temple, “Thanks for coming out so quick babe, now onto our midnight adventure!” You let out a sigh at the amount of energy this man has, even this late at night.

He starts up the car and starts to drive away from the city, leaving the suburban area your houses are in. One of his hands moves to rest on your thigh, the other on the steering wheel. You fiddle with the car radio for a little while, until you notice a specific song start to play, your favorite midnight song when Shoyo dragged you on these late-night drives, “Moonlight” by dhruv. As you got closer and closer to the destination, your eyes started to feel heavier and heavier, and then all of a sudden shoyo is shaking you awake because you fell asleep.

“Babe, wake up–we’re here,” Shoyo says softly as he shakes you awake. The first thing you notice as you open your eyes is the beautiful sight in front of you. Hinata had driven the two of you to an outcropping about a half-hour away from your town and had parked in a way so that the two of you could lay in the bed of the truck and look out on the city. As you got out of the seats of the truck you noticed he had packed a picnic basket and some blankets.

“I, uh,” he says, a blush appearing on his face “I planned for us to stay and watch the sunrise since you always call me your midnight sun on our late-night drives.” He stands there anxiously, waiting for you to react.

A smile broke across your face as you threw yourself into his arms, alternating between pressing kisses to his lips and whispering out soft I love yous. He picked you up and laid the both of you in the mess of blankets arranged in the pickup bed, and you just stayed there enjoying each other’s company until the aureate-tangerine hues of the sun painted the sky.

Turning your head, you notice Shoyo’s eyes were starting to close for longer amounts of time. His eyes popped open at the sound of your giggle, and he pressed your foreheads together.

“Having a good time, babe?” He asked, a goofy grin spreading across his face.

“The best sunrise with my midnight sun,” you stated, pressing another kiss to his lips.
