Oh Edward, c’mon. Don’t bring down their vibe. Young love, spontaneity, an excuse for you to bring out the old feather duster and spruce the place up. Relax. I’m sure you and your sanctuary have crossed the line with a pretty someone at least once, hm? Or better yet! You could use it at the bar. After hours access to the dusty shelves of the library? You’ll be reeling them in.

Y’know, I don’t think I’ve ever been so disgusted in my life. I may be little bit nerdy, but even I don’t see the purpose of having sexual relations in a library-- certain parts of it are so dusty, I don’t even get near them in case I choke to death. Are you suggesting I turn the library into some kind of brothel? 

“No- I just found it at my door, weird huh?”

“And you just picked it up without worrying about it?”

You’re the only one to ever show concern for that so like.. thank you. All in all I think it turned out good though. 

“Well, what good would a portrait be if I did move, even if I didn’t know? I’m sure you’re talented anyway. Lets see it.”

Sorry, sorry, I was just trying to sneak away from my tutor. I think he’s trying to hit on me and it’s just…ew. If I knew getting back into uni was going to be this hard I would’ve never dropped out to begin with.

“Wait--- do you want me to throw the guy out? I don’t need people like that in my library, let alone my history section. Do you need any help? Because college wasn’t that difficult to me-- at least, the history part wasn’t.”

And here I was, thinking that the library would be some kind of strict “no food or beverages” zone. 

“The staff gets special privilege. And by staff, I mean mostly me. I try not to let it get to my head. Do you want me to brew you some next time?”

“Okay, but not even a vending machine? That has to be inhumane. How is anyone supposed to get work done on an empty stomach?  Or stress eat, I’m a stress eater.”

“Hey, it’s not my fault! Blame the people before you, because I certainly didn’t make the rules. But, there is a vending machine in the staff room --- not that you heard it from me.”

Not to listen in, but I couldn’t help it.. I never knew the library was an ideal place for that.

Well, it’s not, like... sexy, but it’s quiet and empty most of the time. People like that, right?

People are going to be picky, it’s a part of life.My staff really needs to get on board with that.

I sort of know how you feel. I mean, the library is almost always void of staff besides me, so I have to handle everything. But, it is a library, so I guess it’s not as busy as your workplace. Have you tried telling her to, uh, ‘step her game up’ as people call it? That might be more effective than putting a stapler where it shouldn’t be.

“Well, this is a library.”

Edward rocked on the heels of his feet, glancing away awkwardly. “I mean-- I thought you wanted some help, but, uh, it’s fine. It doesn’t matter.”

Edward’s eyes flickered from the bus to Adelaide, his eyebrows knitting together in concern. “Need some help there?”

Knackered, huh? There’s plenty of coffee shops around here, but I believe that the back room of the library has the best coffee in town. That’s just me, though.
