Moonlight Predators (Open)
It was a quiet night, aside from the occasional wind and rustling leaves and the crickets. The moon was at a beautiful, full and round phase, its glow lighting up the path enough to show you where you’re going. Edvard gazed up at the sky as he slowly walked along a cobblestone path. Taking a deep breath, he stopped for a moment, smiling slightly. The air was cool and the atmosphere was very comforting. He was almost tempted to get his camping supplies off his horse and just stay where he was – nights like this were rare at that time of year.
“What do you say, Ljora? Up for a bit of rest?” He asked his horse jokingly, but what happened next didn’t please him. His horse seemed to be cautious and acting on it, she had whinnied and started to move away, her ears perked up.
“Hey! Easy, girl!” He yelled as he tried to keep her steady by the reigns, but even that wouldn’t have lasted long as he heard a long, eerie and extremely clear howl of a wolf, or the like, not too far away from them. He stopped dead in his tracks, looking towards the direction of the howl. It was nowhere near as gentle as a wolf’s murderous howl. No - this was deeper, more frightening, and he didn’t know what to think of it.
