Here on Avenue C in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the hood called Alphabet City tucked away in another hood known as the East Village is a little wine shop called Alphabet City Wine Co. That's us! Ok, shamless self promotions aside, we have had a wonderful next door neighbor for over a year now. Right next door to our shop is an amazing restaurant called Edi & The Wolf. This Austrian establishment is the downtown sister resturant of the Michelin Star-rated Seasonal in the Uptown. They have had great succsess here in downtown bringing legit Cuisine inspired by thier hometwon Vienna. In an effort to promote the awesomness that is Austrian wine they have collaborated with a prized biodynamic winemaker from Vienna - Stefan Hajszan and put the name of their joint on the label. We, here at Alphabet City Wine Co. love this particular winemaker and have supported them in the past. Now we are proud to carry the Edi & The Wolf White and red. This white wine from Austria is a blend of Gruner Veltliner, Riesling and Pinot Blanc resluting in a clean, crisp, aromatic white wine with tons of acidity and minerality mingling with soft trpical fruit. This wine is for sharing with friends and drinking with all kinds of seafood and salads as well as the famous Austrian Schnitzel. Take a piece of Austria and this great restaurant home with you and share with your friends what we experience everyday with our next dooe neighbors!
