Eddsworld Patreon AMA (December 2020)
At long last, I finally got around to posting this one ama in particular
Disclaimer: most of what you're going to see has either happened already or hasn't happened. In short, this ama is almost 6 years old but is still important to document for archival purposes
I also put some of my commentary in parentheses so enjoy
Next episode will be Beaster Bunny. It is scheduled to release April 2021. It is the first full length episode for Beyond and it has plenty of action scenes, new characters, and designs
New Zombeh episodes are going to happen in the future
The crew has mixed feelings on what storylines to follow and what canon to adhere to
Legacy is canon. They will try not to undercut things
There will be at least one video this year or next year that is a direct follow up to some stuff from The End
In general they are trying to move away from big storylines to go back to one off stories like in Classic era (I refuse to call it Goulden era)
This means that Beaster Bunny is not a direct follow up to The Birds And The Bees
Also they want to move away from using old characters in favor of using brand new characters (rip Bing and Larry, Laurel, Paul and Patryck, Zanta, and pretty much everyone else)
Speaking of Zanta, they have an idea for Zanta Claws 4 but it depends on whether it would work or not
Next Ellsworld short will have a musical number (Sadly, Slippery Slope didn't have one. Maybe in the future who knows)
Edd made one small sketch of the layout of the house. However, it's not the layout shown in The End
It could be reused if they reintroduce the house
They want to make a map of the whole city so they can revisit areas and know where they are
6 people have been chosen from the birthday contest. Half the tablets have been sent to the winners
They got rickrolled multiple times through the submissions (yes really. lmao)
They plan on adding new sections to the website including a gallery of IG originals and a vault section of Edd's old drawings (which they never did so that was a lie)
Bing imagines Edd having a creative job. It is up for the fandom to use their imaginations on what the characters do for a living
In response to a question asking if the .fla will be released onto the patreon, Bing says they are copyrighted by is willing to share them in the future (fast forwarding 6 years later, they finally release them)
Matt doesn't have contact with Tomska but Bing does and they are on good terms
Matt is not voicing Tom according to a tweet that he made joking on the subject
Social media team is planning on doing March Madness where fans can vote on the best episode (WTFuture won by a landslide obviously)
Matt said that he would be interested in putting Eddsworld into Friday Night Funkin'
There will be a new merch drop soon with a new t-shirt and pin badge
No progress on the Tomee Bear plush. They're still picking the material
The meta episodes try to reflect IRL situations for the show. So Fan Service 2 was made just to say that the show was back and Casting Call was made to tell everyone they were auditioning. They plan on making international dubs and that the Ellsworld vas will be returning
George Gould was cast for Edd without auditioning
Eduardo's voice may alternate between Brock or Chris depending who's available
Auditions for Tom are well underway. There was a rumor that Corpse Husband will be voicing Tom, this was proven false
If you're wondering who Grumbo is he's an inside joke created by Bing
The crew will be introducing more Patreon tiers like $10/$25 tiers
They want feedback on the patreon
They want to make the character's hoodies merch but can't think of a cost efficient way to make them unique to plain colored hoodies. They say a reversible hoodie with one of two patterns inside would be expensive to make (God, we could've had hoodies as merch if they weren't patreon exclusive)
They plan on letting people on the commission tier to renew their commissions but it might take time away from making episodes (This explains why they stopped doing these)
--IN RESPONSE TO THE EW NFSW COMMUNITY--
After Bing talked negatively about EW's R34 community on his channel Past Bing Future Bing, they immediately went full panic mode and proceeded to archive their content (not Bing, just the r34 community in case if you're confused)
Bing then clarifies that although they don't like the content, they will not go after them
Unfortunately, the backlash got to Bing and he would later apologize to the r34 community
While on the topic of not pursuing the r34 community, Bing, Matt, and pretty much the entire social media team and the production team doesn't share images of Angel Edd
