I’m extremely proud of the work the class has produced for this studio. It’s refreshing to see projects with this depth of creative thinking in a graphic design orientated program. As a designer moving forward, I think it’s important for me to continue to develop my creative and experimental thinking. Projects like this have a ridiculous amount of character and uniqueness, two things that I’ll try to maintain throughout my work as a designer and artist.

The objects providing movement

I've added some support string to stabilise the top of the can as it moves, making it less likely to fall whilst in movement.

Making some progress. Putting the pen inside a can enables it to be suspended with more stability.

Trying to get my drawing machine to draw a straight line to the left. The problem here is with the suspension of the pen. I need something that can hold it upwards as the string pulls the pen.

Trying to move the car across the page by opening a door. The traction of the wheels makes it a bit too tough.

The second Idea places a mirror on a the page to form a symmetrical letter, in this case an A. Asymmetrical letters may prove to be a little tricky.

A tug of war mechanism. Two people could operate the cars with the objective to draw an object or a letter.

A prototype of my project. Andy suggested I could use this tug of war mechanism to create letter forms.

Callum remote controlling an mBot via Bluetooth. Very relatable to my rc car project, though I'd like to implement an element of randomisation with the controlling of the car/s.
