Thinking of everyone with fresh self harm wounds, old but prominent self harm scars, and body dysmorphia during this heatwave.

Please stay safe and stay inside if you need to cover up. Please properly clean and cover wounds and put sunscreen on scars. Please stay hydrated and in cool zones.

I'm really getting sick of the rise of anti birth control rhetoric that's plaguing the internet right now.

"Oh! Birth control destroys your body."

Look at me. Look me in my PFP and tell me that child birth is not the most traumatic thing the human body goes through.

My grandmother one of the first children to receive a polio vaccine and one of the first women to receive hormonal birth control. You can not convince me that modern medicine is bad for you.

ADDING ONTO THIS AS AN INTERSEX WOMAN (PMOS variant) the ONLY thing that has ever stopped my body from cramping for MONTHS is birth control. The only time I have not experienced pain is on birth control.

So, the next time some mouth breathing fucking troglodyte tries to tell me that birth control caused my PMOS, I am going to fucking lose my shit.

Reaching my mid-40s was a luxury I almost didn't allow myself. But I can say with absolute sincerity, that I am the happiest and calmest I have ever been. I love my white hairs (and celebrate each new one), I adore my laugh lines, and while I'm not thrilled about the thicker waistline, I'm glad I'm fit, and healthy, and here.
