“No questions! Come with me!” The man was an imposing presence, there was no one who could deny that. It didn’t help either that he had all but torn the door of his shop off its hinges as he abruptly grabbed the teenager by his arm, pulling him inside without any time for objections. Cysero was an enigma, even to those who knew him best. The Blight family were not among his closest inner circle, and this was his first real encounter with the boy, but that wasn’t about to stop him, or his pangolin palisman as he climbed from the blacksmith’s shoulders to rest on Edric’s as though they’d already been friends for years.

Cysero had had minor dealings with the Blights, some supply of materials and maybe the occasional interaction with Alador, but that was rare. That wasn’t the reason he’d suddenly snatched the teenager off the streets though, now guiding him through the shop and to the back, past a few meandering creatures that seemed to be made of living cloth and some other odds and ends.

“Hold this. I have something you need to see.” Without hesitating, he dumped a large crystal ball into Ed’s arms. He himself could have held it one-handed, but it was definitely oversized and the average witch would likely struggle to accomplish the same task. Still, Cysero didn’t stop, nor did the wide smile falter as it stretched across his face while he withdrew what looked like a many-segmented great sword from behind his forge.

"Heh, look at you." He said, speaking fondly of the Palisman on his shoulder. This couldn't be all that bad if a little creature was involved! And, it all felt familiar yet distant at the same time. It felt kind of refreshing!

"WOAH-" Ed huffed when the crystal ball was placed into his arms. Dang thing was heavy! But.. Y'know, it was still inviting! The guy clearly had a big, inviting smile that he had no complaints about! "Wait a second- Who are you and what are you..."

It's not like things were horrible. And, he couldn't deny some good memories he had. So he just hugged on like mad.

But, he always had a soft spot for his family! So he'd draw them and put them on a pedestal. Or, he'd like being with them.

Edric remained crouched onto his bed. Another conversation he shouldn't have started, another round of lectures from his mom. It always circled around how he could do better or "how little is expected out of him at this point".

"I'm just at home, babe..." He sighed.

Hunter listened to Edric with concern.

"Your mother said again that she expected more from you?"

Hunter asked Edric with a concerned tone as he spoke over the purple scroll.

"Yeah.. I know she says that about like, everything, but it doesn't make it better." He sighed. "It's like- what can I even be doing better?! And why do I even care?!"
