On November 1-2, 2017, We had the opportunity to share the innovative project at the Astechnova International Energy Conference 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. People from all over the world participated in this prestigious conference to present their research and discuss the Innovative Sustainable System of Energy – Water – Food (E-W-F) nexus. What’s On Campus: Project @orosnetwork (Operation Rain Or Shine), the Green School’s student project funded with the ZAYED Future Energy Prize @zfep is nearly finished! Can’t wait until it is entirely in shape like the design. – The dome-shaped structure will be our energy hub that controls the energy in the entire school and also a place where students can learn about sustainable energies. – The igloo-shaped building was inspired by an eco-house, built with earth-bags, the rice bags filled with sand mixture. The house absorbs all the heat from the sunshine at daytime so it wouldn’t be hot at daytime nor cold at nights. For thousands of years we have relied on burning fossil fuels to generate energy, yet using oil, gas and coal keeps becoming a bigger problem. Climate change is the greatest environmental challenge we have ever faced. The answer to to this problem? Renewable energy. We currently have 180 panels in our solar field. Aiming to educate the leaders of tomorrow about renewable energy today! What is an earthbag structure? We first started out laying a foundation 60cm deep. Moving and dumping tons of large and small rocks.
