Ad | 1666 Amsterdam has you playing as a Witch in Amsterdam with a cat companion. You hunt Originals - Strange creatures who wear human faces during the day, but reveal their true form at night.

Would appreciate some love on this one, it's by the developers behind Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. It's one of my favourite games, and I know the devs will do a good job on this one.

This is from PC Gamer:

"A number of people have raised questions or concerns to us about whether assets in our marketing and game use generative AI," the studio wrote on Reddit. "We have a dedicated team of over a dozen talented and experienced artists. With them, we looked into the assets in question and found that there were indeed some early versions of assets that made their way into the the prologue. This includes some in-game portraits and external marketing assets.

"We are actively reviewing the assets in question. Human made versions will be released in an update dropping soon. We own up to this oversight and apologize for any upset caused. Please be assured that the Early Access and full game will not include any assets generated by AI."

I think one things that’s really frustrating with this is that there’s a few possible options here:

1. The Studio permitted its use for early concept art which accidentally ended up in the final build.

2. The studio permitted its use for early concept art and thought it wouldn’t be noticed by players.

3. Some individual members of the team are using it without permission and the studio wasn’t thorough enough in checking it.

All of these options kinda suck, if it’s number 3 - then it really changes the responsibility of QA as they effectively investigate the rest of the Teams work as well as check the game plays well. That’ll be near to impossible.
