how to become disgustingly educated
me with you guys (yes you) simping over hot men
Lil’ cordyceps snail :)
I don’t post many WIP shots of my zodiac artworks, so here it is. I usually start with the hair and body first, and shade the fabric last as not to over contract or make it too dark overall. So nice to be back in the swing of things!

My latest commission work, always have time to draw some cute fungi/shroomies. Little fairy houses.
Sneak peek of my studio set-up (temporary)! So in love with my drawing table. I’ve only wanted one since I was 16, so I guess it was about time. So excited to sit down and create some timelapse videos!
Perusing old tumblr accounts and found this gem. 19yr-old version depresso version of me. Gotta love my velvet stage. Almost ten years ago (internal screaming).
My mailbox is happy 🍁🍂 I'm so excited to start the panorama project and test out my new markers!! Planning to spend this winter cuddled up in bed drawing and sketchbooking my lil heart out (also it's been a decade since I last used a moleskine sketchbook, I thought it was time to get back on the bandwagon) 😍
My new markers came in the mail and I’m so happy to finally have a full range of warm, autumn-y colours to work with! Finding an online store that sells Prismacolor markers half price is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Last but not least, I taught myself how to book bind and made myself my very own sketchbook. I’m currently using it for my Art Therapy course, but I want to bind a new book with 600 pages and try to attempt the 600 page sketchbook slam challenge. Even if I don’t have a good crack at it, I’ve always wanted a huge sketchbook to crack open and work through. I’m still experimenting with different book styles and binding techniques, it’s going to be a life-long passion now, I feel it!
In other news, my little surrealism sketch turned artwork recieved a “Highly Commended” in a regional competition and sold. Putting my work out there in competitions has been so much fun, and I love hearing the feedback!
My progress so far. Having to make sure everything is to scale just by eye, and fitting it all together before even starting on the details is draining, if I’m to be honest. But I get a strange rush when the details are done and I can fit them all together and see it come together. Long way to go yet, though.
I also started one of the largest projects I’ve ever attempted. This initially started as a Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary present for my boyfriend, but it’s extended well past those dates as it’s so large and intricate (perhaps they could be next years presents?). It’s a fan art of The Witcher’s castle Kaer Morhen. Inspired by the game (The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt) that my boyfriend made me play, and I subsequently fell in love with. It’s a 3 dimensional artwork, large scale with small details of dotwork and fine lines. The shading has been killing me but when I get to step back after a few hours of working on it, it’s all worth it. Watching it some together is very satisfying. I hope to drive this bad boy down to Sydney to scan it professionally when it’s finally finished, so I could possibly create prints.
Capturing the change of the seasons, during a large change in my life. My one and only muse will always be the seasons here.

I have been pretty lazy on the art front honestly, as life often takes over, but I managed to complete another zodiac sign (scorpio). This one was really fun and it made me decide to continue the rest of the series portrayed as women figures. I need to get back in the headspace to continue the series, motivation is another story though.
Well that was a hiatus and a half. I have a lot of catch-up to do! I’ll start by uploading a series of posts of seperate works I’ve done since october last year, and in my defense, the last six months have just been so hectic. I moved out of my cute little blue house, and am currently at home living with my mum whilst things calm down a bit. I’ve started an Art Therapy course to gain a bit more insight into possible career avenues, but I’m already behind because of all the house-sitting and moving around I’ve been doing. My bad.
I’ve also set myself a goal to start setting up my art studio/filming set up so I can begin recording timelapse drawings for youtube! Baby steps at the moment, but the ball is now rolling (finally!!). So exciting. But this gives me time to relish moments I have to myself, to help my mum for a few months, gather studio equipment, put my head down to study as well as continue with my current artworks. As crazy as everything is right now, life is surprisingly good and bearable and I’m so content. I just have to try my best not to neglect my lovely little corner of the world here.
