Ignis sighs inwardly and takes out the cutting board, opening the bread bag and laying out the slices as he speaks. For him this is embarrassingly simple–yet he hesitates to break it down in his mind to even the simplest steps.

“Well, first of all, buttered side down,” he says, as he starts to slice the cheese. A pause, and his knife falls still. “You… did butter the bread, didn’t you?”

          ❝ Guess that was my first mistake. ❞     He’d managed to remember to butter the pan, at least. The endeavor almost seemed successful until he flipped the sandwich, caught sight of the crusty black on the other side and unceremoniously dumped his shame into the trash. The smell of burnt bread alone turned him off the idea completely.
