doloc town is literally so good. i love it when pastoralism isn't completely cozy but this is post-apocalyptic ecosystem management sprouting out of the remains of a horrific war that the game explicitly shows you in the lore. crops either endure or are tended to you under conditions of acid rain, the environment is inexplicably damaged by but also protected by the remnants of technology that can either destroy or restore living conditions to what they once were, and you work hard to make your own life out of literal scraps and trash. there's even a visibly wheelchair-bound disabled man who laments his disability, but needs your perspective and company to make hope out of nothing. it's just a heartfelt game that deserves more attention but might've gotten swept under the rug with its release being so close to FoM's.

anyways cute headcanons over Dantalion as a boss fight in phase 1 would start out all elegant and refined and you get the sense that she's playing with you and making it a little easy but when you actually do kill her. you turn around ready to leave, but the music has stopped. there's the sound of heartbeat. then another. and another until you realize she's still alive and completely unharmed somehow and getting back to her feet
