Pietro Maximoff

“I would love to let loose once all my homework is done. But, uh…what kind of going out for the night did you have in mind? Just—out of curiosity.”

Sitting up Willa wiggled her eyebrows, “Okay fine, since what I just heard was a person in need crying out for help, lets see what I can do.” Looking around Willa nodded and then with a flick of her wrist she tossed a fireball up to the fire sprinkler over head, and when it went off she twirled the finger of her other hand turning the water into snow. “Oh no! Lecture cancelled.”

Pietro watched her and couldn’t help but smirk from what she had done. “You know that can get you expelled, right?” he said, lifting a brow. Often times, he was told if he didn’t calm down and stop being so childish, they would expel him. Sometimes Pietro wondered if that was a better option than staying. 

“I guess… however, in my defense, I’m not really that young.”

Closing a fist around the fireball she had been rolling over her fingers, Willa sighed. “Fine. I’ll just sit here bored out of my mind. Wasting away. Waiting. Sitting. Dying slowly.”

“You’re bored? What about me!? Imagine having super speed and having to sit here forever, listening to long and boring lectures over and over about the same thing over and over again,” he sighed. 

She was a little taken aback by that confession. Yes, she would miss him too, but after all he’d said about his sister. It was quite the comparison for him to make. “Not more than you miss your sister though surely, you love her…” She offered a sad smile. “I wish things were different, I do. Please don’t think I want to send you away.”

Crystal wished that she could make a case for him to stay. But Attilan had so little resources already. An extra mouth to feed was not going to be an easy sell. “Don’t you want to go home to your sister? I know you miss her very much.”

Crystal looked sad for a moment. She wanted to tell him that it wasn’t the end. But she didn’t know how it couldn’t be. Her family wouldn’t let her see him again. No matter how much she wanted to. “I…I’m sorry Pietro…” 

“Safe? There’s no where safer for an Inhuman than Attilan. That’s why Black Bolt is sending us to rescue as many as we can. But…” She paused for a moment. “I know how you feel. I don’t want you to leave either. But that’s the law. Attilan is no place for a human.” 

Pietro sighed. It wasn’t fair to him. He’d grown fond of the princess, especially since she was the only one who seemed willing to help him. He had her to thank for saving his life. “I’m not human,” he told her. “Not entirely... Anymore.” 

“I know one thing. I’m not scared.”
