For the audition to choreograph, I was asked “if you could be an animal, what would you be?” I thought for a long minute, i couldn’t pick just one and I don’t know why I felt like I really needed to be as transparent and genuine as possible. So I said, “either a bird, or a fish.” They asked, “why both of those? how?” Another minute passed, “well, what they have in common... in the wild they both glide, without the constriction of walls. no boundaries. constant riding of the currents, either water or air, freedom” I’ve never had a true flying dream. But, I have constantly had dreams where I swim through the air. The breast stroke pulls me through the open spaces, usually to look at jewelry, which is interesting because other than bracelets I’m not one to accessorize. Thats how I feel right now.
