• Jack’s apartment currently looks like a farm/pet sanctuary

• It all started with his therapist telling him to get one plant. 🪴 that way he has something to take care of and something to go back to every day.

• Jack is not a man that does things in moderation.

• First day he bought 3 plants, so they’re not lonely while he’s roaming out and about.

• A month later his whole house was mostly greenery.

• Then Jack saw a cat 🐈

• Jack doesn’t even like cats. But he was patrolling and the owner of the cat passed away. He couldn’t get himself to leave her in a shelter.

• So now he has 3 cats. Because, of course, the cat can’t be lonely while he’s out and about.

• 6 months in and the cats 🐈🐈🐈‍⬛ still don’t have names. Because he’s been telling everyone he’s just fostering until he finds them proper homes. (He’s currently not looking)

• Jack calls the cats a variety of nicknames.

• 1 year in, Robbie and Dana had to start a small intervention when Jack decided he was going to adopt a baby goat. 🐐

• He had to return the baby ducks 🐥, the iguana 🦎 and the two snakes 🐍 but he could keep the cats.

• To keep his love of animals at bay without adopting a whole jungle (which his flat already looked like) he decides to volunteer at an animal shelter.

• When he notices Robbie being particularly off on some days, he asks him to go feed his cats after the day shift, saying that he forgot to do it.

• He has full trust in his cats to act exactly as hungry when Robbie goes to his house, as when he fed them not even two hours before.

• Robbie had a heart attack when Jack called him and told him to get to the house ASAP, and that it was an emergency and he needed the best doctor in town. 🩺

• Robbie suggested to call an ambulance 🚑 but Jack said there is no time and to get hiss ass in Jack’s flat asap!

• Imagine Robbie’s surprise when he gets to the flat and hears little meows coming from inside.

• “You called in an emergency because your cat is giving birth?”

• “It is an emergency! 🏥 Look how many little ones we need to feed and take care of.” 🐾

• “You are not keeping them.”

• “We’ll see about that.” ;)

• Long story short, now Robbie, Mel, McKay, Santos and Whitaker, Javadi and Mateo have one cat each, Samira has two, Langdon said he cannot physically take any more animals into his house, Dana said over her dead body and Ellis and Chen knew better than to be in Jack’s vicinity when he was giving away cats.

The Pitt - Night Shift Trio 🐺🐻🐈‍⬛

And in the span of a few hours right before and during Pittfest he finds out:

1. Heather was pregnant with his baby and aborted it without ever telling him. (To which he forgave her immediately.)

2. Jake, his step son, took his girlfriend to a concert Robbie paid for and she got shot. And the whole time Robbie was trying to save her he knew if he failed, Jake will never forgive him.

3. Season one ends with Jake telling Robbie that he hates him and he was never his dad.

Yes. 100 yes. He will have a stash of wigs, lipstick and pink clothes just so he can improvise more. He will also change his voice and give the dog loads of pets. He thinks this is the best part of his shift.

No. He’ll just send a woman to finish the job saying he has better things to do than play dress up. In reality, he’ll actually be offended that dogs aren’t just naturally drawn to him and consider him their friend.

Yes. But the whole time he’ll be more afraid of the dog than the dog is of him. He’ll also follow up with every single dog he’s ever treated to make sure they’re okay.
