e2deathstorm:
Deathstorm closed his eyes, inhaling a slow breath at the comfort of Zooms hand on his leather covered shoulder, bringing him down from his white hot rage as his eyes returned to normal from their ghosted state. When the frustration passed, that same evil grin returned to his lips, wide and wicked as ever at the promise of putting down every scientist in their path until they got what they wanted. To be able to alter DNA; he could not only amplify his power, but utilize it to strip others of theirs. Hell, it was a possibility he could use to to strengthen Zoomās connection to the speed force. It would make him - them - close to unbeatable, even by the most powerful of heroes. Knowing a power of that magnitude was so close, yet so far from his grasp really lit him inside. This time, he took on the role of back up, leaning against a desk as Zoom lifted the other scientist from the ground in a frightening fashion. He too begged that he didnāt have a clue what either of them were talking about, or where to find what Deathstorm had demanded. In seconds, that fire in his own eyes returned, but he knew his mentor could handle this one.
Zoom was silently thankful that he could bring Deathstorm down from his rage most of the time. He could only imagine how out of control things might get if he couldnāt. What they wanted to get would be the final push theyād need to put them above and beyond, no one would be able to stop them, likely not even Jay. Snapping necks got old after a while, this time he shoved his hand through the manās chest, watching the look on his face as he removed his hand and the man joined the other dead scientist on the ground. āWhat do you think?ā he asked Deathstorm. It was quite possible they really didnāt have it, and while he could systematically go around questioning and then killing people until no one was left, it would be a waste of time, though if there was a chance someone would break, he had no problem doing whatever it took.
The ability to soothe his fire was a skill that few men possessed. Not only did Deathstorm have a high level of respect for the other man, but he knew his own role all too well; he knew that if he fell too far out of line that Zoom would make just as quick of work of him as Deathstorm did of that scientist. He watched in amusement as Zoom asked the same question, only to be given the same incorrect answer, which ultimately lead to the demise of the second scientist. His hand accelerated back and forth right before his own eyes, so fast to the point where he was able to reach right through the mans torso and stop the beat of his heart in mere seconds.Ā āI think youāre a lot neater than me.ā he answered with a grin, noting his own pile of soot, blood and bone fragments on the floor. Just as he was about to give up on this place, he turned and noticed a scientist reaching down below the lab table to lock a hidden safe. His eyebrow raised, curious as to what he was hiding.Ā āNot so fast - whatās in there?ā he asked as he pointed, knowing Zoom could get to the man faster than he could.
