I've often seen talk about how Lestat hid things from Louis and how awful that is. And I'm not saying it's not bad, it IS a deep issue between him and Louis, and him and Nicki, but like.....there's a difference between hiding things because you've done bad things, and hiding things because people have done bad things to you. Most of the things Lestat hid were literally him being abused by others in some form or fashion, and like....there is some nuance to that.

As much as I do love Louis and Lestat, I do think it is interesting that in the middle of Claudia's dressing-down, she explicitly says something that would bring her some peace (summoning Madeleine), and at no point do either of them discuss figuring out a way to make that happen

the idea that the full of rage, trapped in purgatory alone, abused, tortured, humiliated, murdered spirit of claudia is acting “out of character” because she says very specifically targeted and hateful things to louis is the most egregious misunderstanding of any iwtv/tvl character i’ve seen yet. louis is her abuser. maybe not as obviously as some others that we see THROUGH LOUIS’ EYES. but louis is her abuser nonetheless and self admittedly so. louis who drags her out of that fire to keep her for himself. louis who chooses men over her again and again while he keeps her alone. louis who uses her as a crutch and something to project on. misogynistic as fuck louis. louis who fails to protect her over and over. louis who hangs the dress she died in on his wall. louis who pays a young, struggling girl to pretend to be her to soothe his grief. louis who props himself up on his guilt. louis who violates her in death by reading her diary to her rapist while he kills him for his own personal satisfaction. if you think claudia wouldnt respond like this to being dragged back up from the dead after everything he put her through and all the “woe is me” bullshit he’s done since her death you have horse blinders on.
