To me,,, Cas understands every language that has ever existed but his use of the language is limited and inexperienced. It's like when people semi learn Spanish in school and never use it outside the classroom. You can read it fine. You can say things. But the articulation isn't great. It's a little slow. Coming up with what to say yourself is limited. You don't know the slang and it's weirdly formal. Not how real people talk. Conversation is awkward. To me this is Cas.

People often write him so well articulated (and there's nothing wrong with that dont miss my point) but I love the idea that the guy doesn't know what's going on and is increasingly frustrated by the second ready to start biting. I think he should sound weird. One of his main influences of modern human language is Dean who speaks primarily in pop culture references and enjoys mixing idioms together. I think Cas should invent new and confusing phrases that no one is saying. He says "assbutt" and "the hot topical." He should get to express confusion that cars are genderless objects but Dean refers to Baby with traditionally feminine pronouns.

I dont really know how to end this ramble but it can be filed under my make Cas more weird agenda. Moral of the story, Cas understands language textually but his application is iffy.
