Edward was obligated to be there, he was a Prince of England and his mother had pretty much demanded his presence, making it very clear that she was picking the Diamond of the season and that he should pay attention, and heed her recommendation. He was of the age where his parents and the Kingdom expected him to be wed, so he wasn’t at all surprised by his social calendar for the season, and the garden party was just the first of many.
As he was introduced by one of the other courtiers, he bowed his head politely at the people he had just been introduced to, playing his role when a Garden party full of eligible ladies of the Ton literally looking for their Princes approached him, giving him barely a moment’s peace.
Chuckling as he saw that someone else had evidently had the bright idea to hide deeper into the gardens, he just cleared his throat. “I dont believe we’ve been introduced --” he said, staying where he was and making his presence known by the other.

the performance had neared completion, applause still echoing as she stepped off the stage. hiding amongst the wings with the darkness consuming as stagehands and fellow actors ran about. it was the ensuing chaos within these moments that brought her tranquility. odette could finally breathe a sigh of relief but it was a passing shadow that she trails behind - like a moth drawn to a flame. she doesn't need to see his face to know this is the prince, something ignites in her soul just in his vicinity. whispers already said that the prince would be attending the matinee and that only led to one answer, he will be here and waiting. maneuvering through the frenzy of the finale, she stopped near her dressing room with her hand hanging precariously on the door knob. speaking to the shadows and the man lurking out of the eyesight of others, " are you going to join me? " but she already knew the answer and opened the door, entering before leaving it slightly ajar.
It wasn’t often that Edward was able to take time to catch a performance. but he did it as often as he could. He had several responsibilities as a Prince of England, and his mother’s advisors had all warned him against carrying on with the soprano, but there were some things he just wasn’t ready to give up and it didn’t matter that they both knew that there could be no real prospect of a future that they could share together. Stepping out of the shadows, waiting for her after leaving the royal box, having watched from the wings to see her take her final bow, he followed Odette back into her dressing room.
It was a familiar setting, and one that they had met in countless times before, which was evident in how he quickly settled on the chair as she got out of her costume and stage makeup. “You sang beautifully tonight, as you always do.”

About
- The first born son of King George and Queen Charlotte, Edward was born with a lot of expectations. He had the weight of the world on his shoulders but at the same time, he was born into luxury that most people could only dream of. From an early age, he was made aware of what it meant to be a Prince of England, and his grandmother the Dowager Princess Augusta made sure that his days were filled with education fit for a prince, as well as private tutorials on literature, politics and geography.
- Much like his father he enjoys the outdoors more than the indoors. and would much rather be in the gardens than at a ball or meeting of foreign dignitaries. He was made aware of his father’s difficulties at a young age and from then took pride in being King George’s company when he had one of his episodes and had to escape to the gardens, away from everyone’s critical eyes.
- He is heavily involved in the military and takes trips to different regiments regularly to keep informed about what is going on and how the country should be defended should it ever come to another war.
- Because he was made to think of the Country, his family and then himself, he is fully aware that a marriage will be arranged for him to a woman who fits the needs of the Country at that time, but he does wish that he could be a regular man, able to choose the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
Personality
Edward is a complete extrovert and draws his energy from large groups of people, but he is also incredibly reckless and stubborn to a fault. He reacts to things quickly and has a hot temper, so it can be difficult to reach him and connect with him, but once you have, he is completely loyal and the best confidante you could have.
He is an absolute flirt and can charm the socks off anyone he’s faced with.

- Lovers - He is no saint and has been with many women, but I would think there are two or three he would consider actual relationships.
- The one that got away - (Taken by Odette) Captivated by her voice, but what has now drawn him in the most is how easy it was to speak to the young Opera singer, and how quickly that had turned into a mutual understanding. They both know they cannot go further than they already have, but he misses her on the nights when they are apart.
