Stan culture is so unhealthy lmaoo, it promotes ride or die mentality which is shitty and leads to stans defending shitty behaviour and or refusing to look at their favs with a critical eye or attacking anyone who does. It also promotes possessiveness and obsessiveness, stans stop seeing their favs as people but as objects of affection, gods, angels. It dehumanizes them. It also makes the stans more lonely and unfulfilled. The time spent makes them feel like they know this person. They want their existence to be validated by their fav acknowledging them, they want to be friends with them or lovers because in their mind it will work out well for both parties. They don’t for a second consider how strange all of it is, so weird. So unbelievably bizarre. Just like*** people, like their style, art, music, humour, personality, etc. but don’t love***them... you don’t know them....... and chances are, you never will
