Something like training, trying to introduce elements of lineless
I can't believe this only just occurred to me:
I've always been so blinded by the whole "I'm here for you, Yang Cheng," part of it that I completely overlooked the other side of this interaction, which is basically "I didn't come here to support you after your little brother was kidnapped, Xia Qing. I'm not even gonna ask if you and your brother are okay. I only came here because I saw that Yang Cheng was becoming famous and I want to take advantage of that for my own gain," lmaoooo.
Fellas, are we really sure that Shang Chao was good intentioned and simply too consumed by his dreams to realise the effect he had on others, or was he actually just an apathetic narcissist? I'm starting to have doubts about him again. 😅
What are your thoughts on the two E-soul's are merged theory instead of the new E-soul being yang cheng?
I personally don't agree with that theory. We haven't seen any evidence yet that Trust can do more than make two people look, sound and behave similarly (via Nice and Lin Ling), so I'm not particularly inclined to believe that it can literally make two souls become one, or force two souls to inhabit the same body. I'm of the belief that their Trust Values alone merged because there is now only one entity known as E-Soul due to Old E-Soul perishing in the fight and no longer being able to believe himself to be E-Soul—which would keep the two Trust Values separate—and that Yang Cheng has simply inherited a lot of Old E-Soul's traits because Old E-Soul's image is the one that's been in the hearts of society for thirty-four years; the title "E-Soul" implies stoicism, justice, and, apparently, growing four inches taller despite being old enough that one should already be fully grown and beefing the fuck up.
To dig a little deeper, we know that the only ways to get rid of the Trust you've acquired are to a) do something absolutely no one likes and have everyone lose faith in you, b) become irrelevant and fade into obscurity, or c) stop believing in yourself/your identity/denounce your title. Old E-Soul, as we know, was more relevant than ever due to the rise of New E-Soul, the lawsuit, and the duel. We also know that, although he was slowly losing supporters to Yang Cheng, they were still roughly neck and neck by the time he decided to end the battle with Lightning Slash. Finally, Old E-Soul was determined not to forfeit his identity or retire, which is why he accepted the duel in the first place. He still believed that he was the one true E-Soul and put his life on the line to prove it. Because of the lack of evidence to support the theory that two souls can merge and for the reasons stated above, Old E-Soul simply couldn't have ceased to exist as an independent entity and have all of his Trust Value instantly transfer to Yang Cheng except through his death. If two E-Souls exist and one of them dies, there is now only one E-Soul for "E-Soul"'s Trust to go to.
That aside, the role of every former X so far has been to push one of the Top 10/11 forward and no longer serve any purpose after that. Smile? Dead. Phobiaclone? Dead. Vortex? Dead. Ah Sheng? Dead. DJ Shindig? Dead. Bowa? Jail (as far as we know). Mr. Matchstick and Ms. Blazing Fire? Literally weren't even there except briefly on TV. It only makes sense for Old E-Soul to follow the trend and either also be dead (though I do have my own theory about whether or not that is actually true...) or not important to our main cast anymore, because his role in pushing Yang Cheng forward has been served.
Tl;dr: I don't agree with the theory that the two E-Souls merged, but I do agree with the idea that Yang Cheng inherited the Trust of E-Soul and, in turn, the image that's associated with the title (i.e., the image Old E-Soul cultivated).
Thanks for the ask! ❤️
We could have had it all, folks. They denied us this and now it's my job to deliver. ✊️😔
This was just a doodle to take a break from a bigger piece. I've got like... three of those on the go for XiaCheng. I will eventually finish one of them lol.

Also i have 2 things to mention
1) if you make nsfw works tag your work with the usual "#tbhx women week" tag, but also tag it with "tbhx women week nsfw" just for organization sake (this has been edited into the pinned post)
And 2) after much deliberation (and even more procrastination) I did make an account on x because I'd love to see as much love for our women as possible (user is tbhx_women_week, sharing the prompt post would be welcome)
Will an Ao3 collection be created to compile fanfiction submissions for ease of access and discovery?
Yes! There absolutely will be an ao3 collection made for it! It'll be titled "TBHX Women Week 2026"!
AHU STAINED GLASS!!! My sister wanted to see an Ahu stained glass and gave me some composition ideas, and I was inspired by one of them so I was finally able to make a new stained glass piece! Note: I dunno how to draw chunky little dogs (or dogs in general) lol but I had fun making this!
Ahu is so cute. I can't believe the fat old dog is ranked fourth for me. Seven human heroes rank below a fat old dog in my heart. That is kind of absurd. He was in two episodes. I love this hardboiled gent so much. He is so underrated.
5/11 stained glass pieces done! Coming up with compositions is the hardest part of making these for me, so if anyone has any ideas for the six I'm still missing (Lin Ling, Loli, The Johnnies, Ghostblade, Dragon Boy, and X), feel free to fire suggestions my way through whichever means is ideal for you!
Prompt List for TBHX Women Week Is Here!
Next month, from July 12 to the 25th, let's celebrate our wonderful ladies of TBHX! The tag will #tbhx women week
Gen or ship, SFW or NSFW: for the generally, anything is welcome!
Late submissions will be accepted for another 2 weeks—up until August 8th!
If anyone has questions to ask, check the #q&a tag or send an ask!
Okay here's some more E-Soul arc theory that my sister sparked after I showed her my previous post lol. I don't feel like rewriting everything in a cohesive way so I'm just going to copy paste what we each said and edit/clarify when necessary. This one is about Shang Chao!!
Theory begins under the cut.

This post became more complex and developed incredibly as I wrote it out. It was only supposed to be a crack theory about Yang Cheng and Xin Ya, but now it also involves Dragon Boy and Yan Mo and has turned into a huge conspiracy theory. I'm just going to let you read it out the way I thought it out. Prepare yourselves.
So, where did this whole thing start? Well, I had a crack theory I don't think anyone has talked about before, and that is...
Yang Cheng and Xin Ya are half-siblings. 🤡
Alright, hear me out below the cut lol.
I just read your bio which says you love getting asks, so I'm sending one from one Yang Cheng lover to another.
I've already yapped a lot in my own posts/asks about this but I want to hear what others have to say about it too. What are your thoughts on Shang Chao and Xia Qing both as individuals and regarding their relationships to/dynamics between the two of them and Yang Cheng?
Apologies if this is something you've spoken about before on your blog, I have an awful memory (but I've been religiously following the tbhx tag since spring last year so I almost definitely would have seen it at some point if you did lol).
Hi @duckirubb3r 👋
I have loosely talked about how I view Yang cheng, shang chao, and Xia Qing as a trio when the E-soul arc was initially airing! However, your ask has made me realise that I haven't directly talked about them at length afterwards, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to expand on my thoughts.
It's important to note that Xia Qing and Shang Chao act as direct contrasts to one another and, as a result, have very different impacts on Yang cheng as a character.
Shang chao is ambitious, too ambitious, might I say. He is the accelerator. He creates the plans and drives them forward almost instantly. In his own haze and desire for success, it seems like he forgets to run things over with yang cheng and Xia Qing. He assumes that Yang Cheng will be fine with trying to reach the commission leaderboards. He assumes that Yang cheng will be okay with him becoming his manager and partner. He assumes a lot of things and doesn't actually go to confirm them, but he chooses to move forward when he doesn't see an obstacle in sight. It's that kind of behaviour that made many view him in an unfavourable light in episode 5 (its not the full story as to why but a key contributing factor that I feel some may overlook when acknowledging that Yang cheng's unreliable narration also played a part). Shang chao is the epitome of the perfect male citizen. It's why Yang cheng envies him because Shang Chao represents the things he doesn't have, the things that society robbed from him. Shang chao has connections, he has the funds, he has the ideas, he has the courage, he has the spirit, and he has everything all the good cards handed to him by fate. However, that's only Yang cheng's biased view of Shang chao, and while shang chao does present himself in that manner, his interactions hint to more than what meets the surface. Even though shang chao is comfortable, he still wants more. He wants to differentiate himself. He wants to earn something that is his and that he can rightfully claim. When Xia Qing compliemented him and his experience, he chooses to dismiss that and highlight that this was only possible due to his father's connections. While Shang chao's ambition can make him nearsighted and oblivious, he isn't as ignorant as we first assume him to be. He seems aware to an extent about his own privilege and wants to change that but ironically his changes to make a name for himself still come from his father's connection and privilege as shown by his knowledge, him renting the warehouse, his technology and his own legal support. It's a shame we don't get to learn more about Shang chao. Does he fully know about his father? Is there a deeper reason as to why he wants a name for himself? He doesn't bring about his father's name directly, so is that a hint to a strained relationship? Does shang chao want to be a different CEO than his father? Is that the reason why he sought Yang cheng and made an effort to include Yang cheng and Xia Qing as friends by getting them tickets to Lucky Cyan's concert?
I actually think that Shang chao's thought process surrounding his father and his nepotism also manifest in his advice towards Yang cheng. He actively states that he doesn't believe that Yang cheng is doing anything wrong by taking the E-soul identity and that he should use it as a 'leg up', an advantage to help him differentiate himself and become his own E-soul aka his own hero. That line of thought seems so similar to how he approaches his own outlook with his father and desires to expand his project.
(More elaboration on shang chao vs Xia Qing's thought process surrounding E-soul and yang cheng here!)
The more that's revealed about Shang De, the more I come to realise how much of a mystery shang Chao's character really is.
On another note, I don't really see Shang chao asking Xia Qing out. I know that it's been stated that it happened in Canon, but ironically, we only get 2 scenes where Xia qing and Shang chao are interacting, and one of them has Little polemo included. However, I personally believe that Shang chao was poly and pansexual, so 🤷♀️
Moving on to Xia Qing! In a world where everyone seeks the thrill of being a hero and wants to be at the top, she is an outlier. Xia Qing is rational. She is observant, but most importantly, she is someone who sticks to her core no matter the circumstances. She is unlike any other in this series to me. She is the only one who we are shown with a sibling (I find it ironic how we have had multiple representations of a variety of relationships, but siblings aren't one of them) and I find her relationship with little polemo quite underrated. The show implies that she is the primary caretaker for little polemo since their parents travel a lot for work. This huge responsibility clearly shapes who she is as a character. Her ability to stay calm and rational in extreme situations further contributes to her actions, showing just how responsible she is. If shang chao is an optimist, Xia Qing is a realist. She is the most down to earth character who is able to maintain sanity when the world is against her. She is logical in telling yang cheng to back down from his fight. She is logical in her rebuttal against E-soul's management team. She is logical in pointing out flaws or concerns in shang chao's plans. Her realistic attitudes protect her in the series. She chooses not to engage in danger. She has a form of self-preservation that's admirable in a reckless and fast driven society. While many are changed and altered by external circumstances, which end up breaking or making them as people, Xia Qing remains exactly who she is at her core and sticks to the plans and ideas she has. She tells Yang cheng that she won't stay if he doesn't have the courage to be himself, and she follows on with that promise even if it breaks her.
Xia Qing is also an observer. She observes the situation prior to acting, and it's a key defining character with her relationship with Yang cheng (shang chao is the opposite). Xia Qing waits for yang cheng to make a decision. She waits for him to act and only nudges him if she deems it necessary. Although she slowly recognises that the man behind the mask is yang cheng, she doesn't point it out directly, unlike Shang chao. Her method of acting is interesting to me, allowing events to play out naturally instead of taking a controlling reign on them. Even though the world around her changes, Xia Qing remains a constant in her own life. Similar to shang chao, Xia Qing's thought process manifests in her own beliefs surrounding the E-soul controversy, and I do hope to see her play an active role in season 2. I wouldn't be surprised that through her observations and high emotional intelligence, if Xia Qing realised or later on came to the realisation about who Rock was and Yang cheng's manipulation. I wouldn't be surprised if she took on a more active role in season 2 functioning under the radar, but being an important presence nonetheless. She is a victim to Rock, and I do hope that she also gains her own justice considering all that she has gone through.
Another important thing to me about Xia Qing is her reaction to the E-soul fight. It's highly likely that the last time she saw or spoke to Yang cheng was during their argument at the beach. I doubt that she would have talked to yang cheng before his fight. Throughout the fights progression, we never see Yang cheng watching the fight. She fully goes to the lucky cyan concert and chooses to mourn both yang cheng and shang chao. I enjoyed both yang cheng and Xia Qing's expressions of grief and how the show intentionally mirrors these two. After yang cheng's final punch, we never see his face again, and after Xia Qing's heartwrenching sobs, we also never see her again. There's an empty presence that the audience has to focus on, and it's how these two characters have drifted apart abandoning what they once were (in yang cheng case) or their environment (Xia Qing). While many look at the climax of episode 7 as a Yang Cheng transformation scene, I also believe that it's a Xia Qing transformation scene as these two leave their shared pasts behind, both greving the loss of shang chao in their unique ways. While both might try and avoid the past or hide it, I doubt that they will ger far as season 2 brings them to positions where they wouldn't want to be in. I never interpreted Xia Qing leaving the concert as her being content, but as she acknowledged that she has to move on. She is practical, and she will continue to live and carry on the story no matter what.
Anyways, I love 3-soul!! They deserved so much better 😔
(Sorry for taking so long to respond to this! Exams are killing me, and it sucks that school chose to give me a 1 week break before resuming exams again)

Hey 👋
I probably should have just replied to your comment 😭 but I think asking you in this format may give you more space to yap so excuse me for this. I know you hate Nice but I didn't know you hated Dragon Boy as well! Why do you hate him?
I appreciate you sending an ask to give me more yap space because I am very good at turning what could be quick responses into essays. This is also why I can't stop planning out longfics when I would really just like to write something short and sweet, hence I still haven't published a story since just after episode 1 aired lol. One day, my XiaCheng dreams will come true... I'm working on it. 😭
Tangent over, now for my answer:
So I think hate is actually too strong of a word, but I do dislike him. The reason I don't HATE him is because we still don't know much about him so it feels unfair to judge him that harshly until we have a more developed backstory for him.
As for why I don't like him, he's just... so incredibly hateful himself lol. He knows that what he's doing is wrong and goes out of his way to make people suffer more than they have to. We've seen how poorly certain people have treated him (his presumed parents, those assholes who saw him roleplaying the Loch Ness Monster, and Yan Mo), but surely he's encountered people who have treated him alright. Hell, he was already determined to become the next Zero the day he ran into the Nessie gang, and he was still pretty young back then. He hasn't grown at all with age, only become more self-assured in his violence to the point that he was almost booted from the 21st tournament for his cruelty... which kind of sounds like the only time this has probably happened to me. I'm dubious that they've had to discuss whether or not to let a hero participate before because of how depraved their methods are. How he's allowed to be a hero in the first place is a mystery to me.
I think, ultimately, the fact that his goal is to straight up knowingly become the second coming of a hero-turned-death-god is a pretty good indication that he is morally black, and not in a fun way. All we know about him so far is that he hates people who are trash and wants to get rid of them, but we don't really know what constitutes trash in his mind. The way I see it, anyone whose ideals don't align with his and anyone who seems weak are trash to him... but we don't even know what his code of ethics is or what he stands for or why he looks down on so many people. What I understand his definition of "trash" to be could include so many good people. He gives dictator vibes in what is already a very Zero-esque manner.
He's misguided in a way that isn't funny the way Ghostblade is, malicious in a way that's deliberate unlike Yang Cheng who is unaware, and harmful in a way that's meant to punish others unlike Nice who's only focusing of himself. He takes the bad parts of three of the most morally questionable characters and ignores the caveats. Which essentially makes him (from all we know so far) evil for the sake of being evil with no logical system that determines where is justifiable to unleash his wrath. In simpler terms: a universal bully. I do not like characters who are mean to be mean, and I don't like characters who hurt innocent people that don't deserve it. With the exception of Ghostblade because he's funny and Yang Cheng because he was unknowingly manipulated into doing it lol. Dragon Boy and Nice both know that what they're doing is bad and they're doing it selfishly so therefore they suck and I don't like them. Ghostblade and Yang Cheng need to be real though and become part of my reverse harem because I will love them more than anyone ever has before (I am mentally ill and not good at connecting with normal people but these two would get me and I would accept them the way they are 💪).
I hope this adequately answered your question. I still like Dragon Boy more than Nice, though. I have faith that he has a good reason for being an asshole. Nice is just a greedy meanie.
Shitpost idea suggested by @liquidtyranttreasure lol.

Hey look, a XiaCheng doodle. So like I've been struggling a lot with art and energy and sleep lately. I have determined that, after a very short and irregular run, it is for the best that I just not continue doing Kind-of-Daily Yang Chengs. Which I figured would happen even faster than it did tbh lol. Tragically, I started it right at the tail end of a long streak of inspiration, motivation and enjoyment drawing for hours on end every day... but I am not clairvoyant and did not know at the time that the streak was just about to end. Alas, I now struggle immensely to actually draw anything at all. I keep starting things and not finishing them, or doodling something and being like "k yeah that's enough *deletes drawing*." So um. Yeah.
I'm still gonna draw Yang Cheng cuz he's my pookie, but I'm just not gonna try to stick to any sort of schedule and do things the normal way again. And I am also still trying to draw XiaCheng stuff because no one is feeding me so I have to make my own food. The only problem is that cooking is a pain in the ass and I'm not good at it!!! I be doin' my best. Also still working on fanfics that are taking ages to write because I hate myself and can't plan fics without them becoming novels teehee. 🫶
With that out of the way, I humbly beg you artists and writers to feed my ship and send the content my way kk thx mwah cya. 🙏✌️
Thank you, artists, for your support!
So far we’ve gotten 30 Artist signups! That’s incredible!
And with so many of you saying you could do some additional spot art, that’s shaping up to be SO MUCH art for our Author’s amazing fics!!
The sign-ups are still open and will remain open until May 18th, so if you’re an artist who wants a little push to draw something new, or who wants to celebrate TBHX with some collab works, there’s still plenty of time to join us!
This is not an accept/deny event; everyone is welcome! You’ll tell us how much you feel capable of drawing, and what interests you the most. Then, the mod team matches you to our Author’s submitted pitches.
