Stacy Peterson, DuMA Associate Curator and Registrar, is currently in New York City at the Whitney Museum of American Art. This week she accompanied two of Grant Wood's artworks, "Victorian Survival" and "The Appraisal" to NYC and they will be included in the Whitney's "Grant Wood: American Gothic And Other Fables" exhibition running March 2 - June 10, 2018. Both Grant Wood artworks are on long term loan to the Dubuque Museum of Art from the Carnegie-Stout Public Library. https://whitney.org/Exhibitions/GrantWood

Grant DeVolson Wood was born in Anamosa, IA on this date in 1891. He was an American painter best known for his paintings depicting the rural American Midwest. Two of our favorites are Victorian Survival and The Appraisal both artworks on long term loan to the Dubuque Museum of Art from the Carnegie-Stout Public Library. Happy 127th Birthday Mr. Wood!

Shout out to Artist Tim Olson. Tim's work,The Arrow Head Motel Triptych (after Robert Campin’s Annunciation Triptych), a DuMA Biennial 2017 award winner and art acquisition, will be featured in the Figge Art Museum 40th Rock Island Art Guild Fine Arts Exhibition.
