Gyomei's home and whole early life were nightmares. Abusive parents and being looked down on his whole life. Once he reached a certain age when he was able to take care of himself, he got out of that house of nightmares and never looked back.

Gyomei worked hard, harder than anyone, to get his life together after leaving his house. It wasn't his home, it had never been. Home was a place where you could feel safe and loved, and he never felt that way back then when he still lived with his abusive parents.

At first, he lived on his friends', the other Hashira's, couches, but he soon got himself a small apartment and a part-time job to pay the bills while he studied like a possessed man to get his diploma and teaching license.

It took him a while, but finally, he made it; he got his life together and was living it the way he had always wanted. He was a respected teacher at the Kimetsu Academy and had a good home and life.

He was in no contact with his family… Until one day, his doorbell rang, and he went to open it, only to come face to face with you.

"Hello? Can I help you?" He asked, and you frowned, "Are you Gyomei?"

"That would be me, yes?"

"Well, sorry about this, but I'm your half-sibling." You blurted out. Gyomei blinked, stunned, but he held his cool. Instead of shooing you away, he stepped aside to make more room for you. "Please, come in?"

"…Thanks…"

As soon as you were inside, you looked around, taking in the cat-themed decorations and how clean his apartment was and how clean it smelled.

"Would you like something to eat or drink?" Gyomei asked as he made his way to his kitchen, and you frowned as you mumbled, "Something to eat would be nice…"

"Are you fine with some toast with butter?"

"It's okay…"

You took a seat by the small kitchen table, and Gyomei quickly prepared something quick and easy for you to eat. He set the plate with 3 slices of toasted bread before you, and you grabbed one and took some careful nibbles.

"So… You're my sibling?" The huge man asked as he took a seat opposite you. You nodded and quickly added, "Old fuck had an affair with my bitch of a mom."

Gyomei quickly understood that by old fuck you were preferring his father. Who was apparently your father also?

"How old are you?"

"What does it matter?"

"I'd like to know so I could maybe help you in some way?"

You frowned, but nodded, "I'm 15…"

You were so young, almost the same age as Gyomei was when he left the place he had once called home.

"So all this time, you were alone?" He asked, and you replied, "Old fuck was barely there. Sent money to that bitch that I had to call mom and told her to never contact him again."

"That's…"

"And then that bitch would use all the money for booze and cigarettes."

"Ah…" You certainly had it rough, also. In a way, Gyomei saw himself in you… Though you both certainly were different, despite growing up in shitty homes.

"Where are you living now?" Gyomei asked, and you frowned, "Been sleeping here and there… It's not like I have friends or anything…"

"I see…" He nodded, quickly making up his mind, "Would you like to stay here with me?"

"Huh?"

"I have an office with a couch that opens into a bed? It's not much but-!"

"I'm not asking for charity!" You snapped, "I just- I just-!"

"It's okay," Gyomei smiled, "We are siblings, aren't we? It's only natural for me to help you."

You couldn't believe it. Was this guy seriously your brother? He was so kind, despite having nearly the same shitty life.

"I don't have much money…" You grumbled…

"It's okay." But your brother just smiled as he picked the empty plate and went to fill it, "Would you like some more toast? I'll make us something proper to eat for dinner?"

"…Thanks…"

And that is how you started to live with Gyomei, your brother from your father's side.

The start was a little rocky. You had attitude and a sharp tongue… But you weren't a bad kid. You had just gone through too much, and this was the defensive wall you had built around yourself to keep yourself from being hurt any further.

Much like Gyomei, you had scars like he did. Some of which he recognized way too easily.

"These marks…" Gyomei whispered quietly, and you frowned, "That bitch I had to call mom would use me as an ashtray sometimes…"

How awful, truly, so awful.

As soon as he noticed your markings, you turned defensive, ready to snap at your brother, but you quieted down when you saw his marks and scars. You truly were siblings.

A week passed as Gyomei got used to living with you, and finally, one morning over some breakfast and coffee, he asked, "Would you like ot go to school?"

"School?" You frowned with your mouth full of bread, and your brother nodded, "I'm a teacher at the Kimetsu Academy. You're about the same age as many of my students, so I was wondering if you'd like to enroll?"

"I don't know…" You grumbled, "I don't have good experience with school as such… Being bullied and all…"

"I see…" Gyomei nodded, "But this will be different. I'll be there to make sure you're alright."

"Tch! Won't that make me stick out even more?"

"Trust me." Your brother smiled, "You will be alright."

And so, with Gyomei's contacts to the Ubuyashiki family, you got invited to attend Kimetsu Academy immediately. It was a little rough at first, as you were extremely tense and defensive around everyone…

But your brother introduced you to the staff of Kimetsu Academy, and his fellow Hashiras, and other teachers welcomed you with open arms, very aware of your abused past, which you kinda shared with their friend Gyomei.

Then, you were placed into the Bamboo Shoot Class, where Gyomei was the homeroom teacher. He was happy to introduce you to the rest of his class, though you were stiff and awkward…

"Please introduce yourself?" Gyomei asked, and you frowned as you rubbed your arm with one hand and looked around the classroom filled with students.

"Hi… I guess… I'm here to learn, that's all and stuff…"

The classroom was rather silent, save for the blood rushing to your ears, but your brother smiled and pointed at the empty seat by the window, which he had prepared for you.

The class started, and while Gyomei was teaching, he took occasional glances at you and saw that you were spending most of the time looking out of the window.

It was fine. You were just nervous. Then the class ended, and recess started. Gyomei wondered if he should have asked you to join him and perhaps get something to eat…

But as he looked in your direction, he was happy to see that you were already making friends.

"Hello!" The young man smiled at you as brightly as the sun, "My name is Tanjiro Kamado! My family owns a bakery! It's nice to meet you!"

"And I'm Zenitsu Agatsuma."

"I'm lord Inosuke!"

You looked so stunned, like a fish out of water, and it slightly amused Gyomei. He saw you glance at him, like you expected him to save you from these nice young men, but he instead gave you a thumbs-up.

Traitor.

"What the Hell do you want from me…?" You muttered, and the three young men glanced at each other, and then Tanjiro smiled again, "You're new here, right? Would you like us to show you around? And if you like, we could be friends also?"

"I- I didn't ask you to-!" You frowned, but before you could object, Tanjiro had already grasped your hand and was leading you out of the classroom, "Let's go introduce you to everyone! Genya and Kanao would no doubt want to meet you also!"

"I- I-!"

"Don't bother struggling," Zenitsu said, "You're already caught by Tanjiro's kindness."

"We will make you one of us!" Inosuka laughed as he and his friends started to chant "One of us, one of us!" as they dragged you away. Gyomei couldn't help but to smile, so glad and happy that his students accepted you so easily.

Tanjiro had his special skill of getting through anyone's defences with his unyielding kindness. That is one reason Gymoei wanted you to attend his classroom. Not just because he was the homeroom teacher, but because of his students and their genuine kindness.

Later that day, as the school day ended, Gyomei was waiting for you by the gates. Sure enough, you appeared, though you were firmly glaring at the ground as if it had insulted you.

"Hello there," Your brother greeted you, "How was your day?"

"You left me alone with those smiling idiots…"

"Language. They are my students and your classmates."

"Whatever…" The two of you started to walk towards Gyomei's apartment. The walk was silent… Until you broke it.

"Hey, uh…" You were so awkward, "Thanks… Those guys were actually pretty nice…"

"I know. They are good boys." Gyomei nodded, and you copied him, "Maybe… Maybe I might befriend them…"

Akaza was on a mission to find that blue spider lily that his master, Muzan Kibutsuji, wanted. That, or find a Demon able to withstand and survive the sun's deadly light.

He didn't expect to find a crying child locked in a wooden cage in the middle of the woods.

He was confused. Why was there a child in the middle of nowhere? There was a small village nearby... Maybe the child was from there, but if so, why were they caged?

"Oi." Akaza's voice made the child stop crying and turn to look at the Demon... And Akaza's eyes widened as he saw your four arms and an extra pair of eyes, which were filled with tears.

You blinked, tears falling down your cheeks as you looked at the Demon... And then you opened your mouth, but nothing you said made any sense to Akaza.

Did you even know how to speak?

"What's your name?" He tried, and you frowned as you rubbed your teary eyes. Akaza frowned also. You were no doubt young, not maybe 10, if not even younger?

"D- D-!" You tried to speak, "Demoh...!"

"That's your name?" Akaza asked, "Demon?"

You nodded, and the Demon sighed. As far as he was aware, his master didn't care about the age of people he turned into Demons. This child, you, you might as well have been sentenced to death.

One swing of his strong arm, and he destroyed your wooden prison. You were stunned as you looked at him with your four eyes shining in the moon's light, admiring him.

"Come on..." Akaza grumbled as he picked you up like you weighed nothing and started to carry you towards his hideout. It wasn't much, a small cabin in the woods that belonged to some woodcutter, but it kept him safe from the sun.

"Here," The Demon said as he picked up a leg that was left of the woodcutter and tossed it to you, "You gotta eat if you want to stay strong."

You were totally in awe as you looked at Akaza and then at the bloody leg... And you frowned, shaking your head and pushing the limb away from you.

Akaza frowned, "You need to eat, or else you won't get any stronger!"

You shook your head and started crying again, tears coming down hard, and the Demon frowned.

Were you...? Were you not a Demon? You certainly looked like one!

Akaza looked around and saw a piece of bread in the corner of the cabin. It had a little mold on it already, but he just ripped the bad part off and then offered the still good part of the bread to you.

"Can you eat this?" He asked, and you immediately stopped crying, grabbed the bread, and ate it in manner of minutes. Akaza was right, you weren't a Demon because Demons could only eat humans. Normal food would only make ones like him sick.

Once you were done with the bread, you looked at Akaza like he was your savior, which he might just have been.

"What should I do with you...?" He grumbled, as he knew he couldn't just leave you on your own. Despite your looks, you were definitely a human... But no normal human would take you in or even accept you.

"Shit..." He sighed, feeling responsible for you now that he had saved you, "I guess I'm keeping you...?"

And Akaza did just that. He made sure to get you some proper food from the nearby village, choosing to shamelessly steal whatever he wanted or felt like you needed.

He would keep you company during the nights and tried to teach you how to talk or fight. You know, basic things?

"A. KA. ZA." He said as he pointed at himself, trying to get you to learn his name. You attempted to repeat his words, but you still had some trouble with the K and Z.

But when it came to fighting and martial arts, you seemed to be natural. You were a quick learner, and it made Akaza feel pride unlike anything he had ever felt before.

"Good job, kid." He nodded as he observed the combat doll he had prepared for you to train your punches on, "You'll be strong enough to defend yourself soon enough."

You appeared to understand some words. As you heard your caretaker praise you, you smiled and ran to hug him, but Akaza always dodged your attempts to show physical affection.

He didn't want to appear weak, even to himself.

Then, one night, he was on his way back from the village, this time having stolen some seasonal fruit alongside meat and bread... But as he got closer to the cabin, he heard you crying.

At first, he didn't think much of it. You had a habit of crying sometimes when left alone... But there were other voices.

"Look, it's a small Demon!"

Akaza flinched, dropping the food he had gotten, and immediately rushed to the cabin, but instead of showing himself, he hid in a tree. He chose to observe before going in.

What he saw pissed him off badly. You were badly beaten up. There were 3 rookie Slayers, but you had tried to defend yourself; that much was clear, but 3 young adults against 1 child?

...But this was his chance to get rid of you. You had been holding him back for the past few months, now... Maybe the Slayers would show you mercy when seeing that you were able to stand in the sun?

"Is it even a Demon?"

"Of course it is! Look at it, it has four eyes and arms!"

"An easy kill!"

...But despite his attempts to abandon you, he couldn't do it. Akaza's blood was boiling as he listened to the young Slayers talk about you in that way.

"We could take it back to the base!"

"Yeah! We will get so famous if we turn in a Demon as horrible as this!"

The Slayers grabbed your arms, all four of them, and painfully twisted them behind your back, making you cry even harder as you were in pain and so afraid.

"Dammit!"

"Hold still, you little freak!"

"A- A-!" You cried out loud from the bottom of your lungs, "AKAZA!"

"Shut the fuck up-!" One Slayer raised his hand, ready to hit you, but suddenly lost the feeling in his hand. He blinked as he looked, and he screamed bloody murder, his hand chopped off cleanly.

"M- My arm!?" He fell onto his knees, clutching what was left of his arm to his chest, and his companions, who were holding you, were next. They had no idea what had happened before it was too late.

"H- Huh?" One fell on the ground... Head first and their body following the head.

"I- IIIK!" The third one let go of you and tried to run off, but his legs were neatly cut off from under him, making him collapse on the ground, crying and screaming.

Akaza stood there, his hand bloody, but with a quick flick of it, he got rid of the blood. He looked down on you, thinking that you must have been scared of him now...

"A- A-!" Your voice trembled, so small, but Akaza could hear you loud and clear, even when the two Slayers were screaming from the bottom of their lungs.

"Akaza!" You cried out loud as you threw yourself against him, wrapped all your arms around him, and hugged him, "Akaza!"

The Demon's eyes widened as he felt you hold him so hard. You must have been scared witless. These damn Slayers...!

"I'm here," He said as he knelt down before you and gently ruffled your hair, "I'm here. You're safe now."

"Akaza...!" You cried again as you hugged him again, this time wrapping your arms around his neck. Akaza's eyes were wide as you hugged him so close... It almost reminded him of something... But he couldn't understand what?

"Now..." The Demon got up and turned his murderous gaze to the two Slayers he had left still alive... For now.

"P- Please, no!"

"Mercy!"

"Payback time...!" He growled as he cracked his knuckles, and the two young Slayers screamed and cried apologies, begging for their lives, but Akaza was not feeling merciful. Not after what they did and were going to do to you.

They were dead, but their death wasn't painless. The Demon groaned as he licked his bloody knuckles and turned to look at you. You appeared completely fine in front of blood and violence. Just what kind of a life did you have that led you to that cage months ago?

"Come on, kid," He reached for your hand, which you took gladly. Akaza knew you wouldn't be able to stay in that cabin anymore. Once the word got out that Slayers had been killed, they'd send more to investigate, and Akaza didn't want to endanger you anymore.

You were chill. That's what you liked to believe, and that was the impression you wanted others to have of you. Though being easy-going and carefree in a world filled with Demons and death, getting by was hard. People demanded seriousness, which you didn't like.

So you were pretty much a weed user. Not many knew this; only a few chosen allies knew of this little bad habit of yours.

You liked smoking it, but mostly you loved creating these edibles with it. Sweet treats that not only fill your stomach, but also make you lose all your worries.

So, you had prepared a tray full of chocolate kind of cake that was infused with your favorite magical weed, but before you could even take a bite and drift away, you were summoned by your crow to come and kill a Demon close by.

You were annoyed, but still left because it was your job to protect people.

What you didn't expect was to return home with all your fellow Hashiras, save for Muichiro, in your humble home. You smiled, liking all of them, and you were about to greet them when you noticed that they were acting... Pretty out of character?

"Guys?" You looked around, but only a few Hashiras seemed to notice or hear you... And you noticed how their pupils were blown wide open, and they appeared to have trouble forming words.

You sensed that something was wrong... And then it clicked!

You quickly made your way to the kitchen, and to your horror, you saw your tray of sweet edibles empty, save for a couple of small crumbs.

No way. Your friends and colleagues ate your edibles. This would have been hilarious with a small dose, but since you were used to weed, you had to increase the amount of it in your baking.

The Hashiras, no doubt, were absolutely high.

You were a little bitter that they had eaten your treats, but despite being a stoner, you were a Hashira and responsible for your comrades' erratic behaviors. So you decided to be the best person there and be there for them...! And hopefully, they wouldn't be too mad once they sobered.

Giyu and Shinobu were holding each other's hands and looking at each other like two people in love. You weren't sure if they were genuine and that it was weed that brought their feelings into the daylight... Or they were just too out of it.

Kyojuro was honestly eating everything you had stashed away. You have no idea how he found them, but he found all your snacks like a bloodhound of some sort. He wasn't done until your house was empty, and then he proceeded to take an after-meal nap. He slept the whole night.

Sanemi was staring at the ceiling like a man possessed. He wouldn't take his eyes off it, insisting that he could see Heaven. Then he declared that he would fight Heaven before passing out.

Mitsuri and Obanai were just lying down and holding each other in their arms, occasionally caressing each other's faces, mumbling how beautiful they were to each other. Mitsuri might have kissed Obanai's face a few times. When he would sober up, he would see all the kiss marks she left all over his face.

Tengen was mostly okay, as he has tried edibles before, and somehow that does not surprise you. He insists you eat some, too, and join him as he watches the rest of the Hashiras act like idiots. You might have done exactly that and joined him, only if these idiots hadn't eaten every single piece of your edible cake.

Gyomei was the worst. He was so high, and that, combined with his blindness, made his senses all over the place. At one moment it felt like he was flying and then falling... And his stomach did not like that feeling. And thus, he emptied the contents of his stomach into your baking bowl.

You were trying your best to take care of the high Hashiras, making sure they had a pillow under their heads once they passed out and a glass of water nearby for the next morning.

You were lucky. Why? It was one thing to get adults high, but a minor? You were lucky that, like you, Muichiro had a mission and couldn't attend or take part in this high party.
