Bachelorette Sleep Over

This weekend was a great one to plan! From the fresh watermelon rum juice to the mason jar nail kits!  Here’s what I planned for these gals:

Location: A wonderful Airbnb in Woodland hills with a back yurt and salt water pool.

Friday night: Dinner at Off Vine Restaurant in Hoolywood followed by a beautifully fun burlesque show at the Parlour Room. I reached out to the Burlesque show before hand and made sure our bride got some special attention! Burlesque is a great way to avoid strippers but still be able to have some risky fun! A driver came and picked them up, this war they can be sure to arrive home safely. 

Saturday morning: A gluten free waffle bar poolside with every topping you’d want. I sent the gals out for some day shopping then back to the house for some pool time. Saturday night all the gals got their gift boxes filled with decorated glitter wine glasses, a mason jar nail kit, a sleeping mask and matching robes. The bride wanted one calm night so that is what she got! The gals spent their night watching classic movies, doing nails and gossiping a bit I’m sure. They had a fun photo booth area to have fun with, a candy table and vodka infused gummy bears for extra fun that lasted all weekend.

Fun food ideas: Tuna salad filled cucumber, Tajin fruit cups, Malibu infused watermelon chips for some poolside fun. 

Movie suggestions: Cry Baby, Mean Girls, Romy and Michelle’s High School Reuinion

Tips: 

-Make sure to call ahead when you are scheduling to be at a performance. It is always great if the performer points out your guest of honor and gives them an extra fun experience.

-Be sure to check everyones food preference or allergies. This party had plenty of  Gluten and Diary free option for our bride and her guests.  

-Be sure to have your guests greeted with a fresh drink or cocktail.

The Bachelor & Bachelorette.

This was a great trip. A large cabin in Shaver Lake less than 5 minute away from Pontoons and Jetski’s. Each couple was assigned one food and one beverage item to minimize the food cost for the host. This is always a great option when you are planning a larger, over night event. With plenty of rooms to spare every couple/person had a comfortable place to lay their head. Friday was arrival day and our Bride-to-be and Groom-to-be were greeted with simple classic decor, cocktails and 12 of their family and friends. They spent the night settling in, snacking and playing games. Saturday started out with a breakfast burrito bar then off to a day on the Pontoon. Traveling to a fun sandy island to play touch football. Once their day trip was done, this group headed back to the cabin where a large italian style dinner waited for them. They got all dressed up and sat together to enjoy a meal. This was a great time for the wedding couple to say all their thank you’s to all who came.Following dinner was Family Feud the wedding edition made by me on my computer. I used a projector to project the game onto a white wall and two cell phones with a “buzzer”app downloaded. They played men versus women and had a blast! The night ended with charades, a DIY photo booth and more cocktails. Sunday morning was a large family style breakfast and then check out. They all had a blast and made some lasting friendships.

TIPS: 

-When you bring together a group of people who may not know each other, fun silly games are suggested over anything super competitive. Forget keeping score, just keep the laughs going.

-Try and make sure your guests always have a drink in hand, it makes them feel tented to and important.

WAYS TO INCLUDE THE GROOM-TO-BE

The Madonna.

A bachelorette party with your permanently pinky up. Set at the Madonna Inn 8 women enjoyed their Friday Night with a pajama party. Dressed in onsies and flannel they played games, drank champagne and showered the bride with gifts. This bride was to move away after the wedding, so one gift I prepared was a memory box. Every girl brought photos of she and the bride, they wrote a memory, memo of love or inspiration message on the box. We placed all the photos in a memory box so that our bride could go back and lift her spirits whenever she missed home. Saturday started out with catered breakfast and some serious pool lounging. Around 1 pm a stretch limo arrived taking all the girls on an amazing wine tour in San Luis Obispo. Stopping at a wonderful open view restaurant for lunch and ending at a gorgeous peacock farm with a live jazz band. Saturday night was celebrated with a yummy Italian restaurant and dancing in town. Our bride and company woke up Sunday morning wined out, happy and filled with amazing memories. 

Extra additives that made this event extra special:

Every activity was introduced to our bride with a video from her soon to be husband re-inacting what she would be doing next. I was s happy to see him get into it after I proposed the idea. She was surprised and gitty to see him put in that extra piece of love into her event. 

Tips and tricks:

Assign each girl one food or beverage item to bring. This can help eliminate going out to eat at least once for the day. Saving money. Also, call your hotel ahead of time. Many times you can request a mini fridge making the food item options to bring much larger. 

Collect all the money for the winery and hotel ahead of time. It’s okay to add a bit more to everyones total. Tips and tax are never really accounted for so this will help cover it. 

If doing a lingerie party is too expensive for everyone, get one great piece and make it from the whole group.
