I feel like there is so much overlap between the experiences of lesbians and bisexual women that go beyond both being attracted to women. Both communities have large amounts of gender non-conformity, we both can struggle with feelings of isolation and rejection by peers, our histories overlap greatly and we have so much shared symbolism. For a long time, people never differentiated between the two identities, and there are records of us exchanging jewelry and flowers as secret symbols of our sexuality. We’ve been in this fight together since the beginning. Though our mutual attraction to women is at the root of it all, I really do wish that people talked more about all the other things that unite bisexual and lesbian women.
Have I ever mentioned that I love bi women? Because they’re my sisters and I do love them
