Also, while it's not relevant yet, the info we have on chapter 7/7B is also pretty interesting! The way it's going it sounds like it's over halfway done, but it's also a really big chapter, so I imagine a late 2029 release date is somewhat likely (and would make Deltarune take exactly 11 years...)

im not that convinced by the 11 years thing tbh, itd be an interesting coincidence but i doubt the game is actually being scheduled around that

also i think you might be making some incorrect assumptions about chapter 7. the progress page does indicate that 7B is maybe halfway done, but considering that the first chapter 7 update said "it's not unrealistic that some members may start working on 7 by the end of the year," i think there's no way it's already over halfway done if it is as big as it's likely to be.

i think its much more likely that the progress page is for 7B only, which is an entirely different chapter that just happens to take place at the same time as 7 narratively, and is likely a lot shorter with either its own ending or some kind of railroad back into the main ending of 7A. i think normal route of chapter 7 will likely take a lot longer to develop!

but regardless we cant really make any guesses about chapter 7 as a whole's release date yet. i think 2028 seems possible but who knows!

According to the Summer 2026 newsletter, Toby said that we should expect chapter 6 some time in 2027. Will you start counting again from New Years like you did for chapter 5 and if so, would you do the chapter 3+4 way (simple percentage) or the chapter 5 way (weighted averages)?

it depends on how much info we have by the time december rolls around. obviously weighted average would be ideal, but we dont have anything the full progress breakdown that we did for chapter 5 yet (and considering chapter 6 is allegedly shorter, we dont know really how the dev time will scale). if we get a more in depth update before the new year, i will try to do a proper estimation once again!

lot of info in this section of the newsletter, but most important things are

chapter 6 is releasing by itself

chapter 6 is shorter and more straightforward, which explains the shorter development time

the maps/room structure are nearly done. boss and cutscenes are still wip

it will be coming out in 2027! which means the countdown will return with a similar format

chapters 6 and 7 should release seperately so we get one last period of predictions and theories about whats next before it all ends

deltarune releases on june 24th, today!! that means we're 100% of the way from the date announcement to the release!

originally, i calculated a 2.7971% chance of the game releasing today. that's 10.21% higher than an average day estimate of 0.2739%.

my estimation had the most optimal day for release being july 1st, which is seven days off from the actual release date. that's pretty impressive, i gotta say!
