I can't think of why, but for some reason I'm reminded of how far I've come since almost 3 years ago, when I was with him; when I'd try and hurt myself, or even consider swallowing too many pills, all because he would successfully convince me that i was crazy, and stupid, irrational, and would scream at me, and make me feel guilty for being upset at him for not coming home most nights, and lying to me about why, while I'd stand in the window all night long, shaking with anger and fear and confusion, looking and wishing for his car to turn the corner, wondering what girl he was with and why the hell I couldn't move from that spot.

As much as I'd love to forget, it feels good knowing I escaped that hell.
