AU where your eyes change colors depending on what emotion you’re currently feeling.
this doesn’t actually make it easier for people to read your thoughts and feelings, since the general person won’t remember what a color means besides probably the basic ones. (yellow is for happiness, blue is generally sadness, orange is anger, purple is fear, green is more complex emotions such as nostalgia or bittersweetness, pink is for caring about someone, red is love, etc).
a very specific shade is usually a different emotion, but it will still be related with the base emotion; for example, yellow-green is for the happiness you feel at the memories of your past. in this case the difference is subtle enough that most people won’t notice, unless the colors in your eyes are similar (if your eyes are blue and yellow-green, people are most likely to think the second color is just yellow. but if you have yellow and yellow-green, the difference will be more noticeable).
however, sometimes a slightly different shade will also just mean the same emotion, but on a varying scale (more intense / less intense).
there’s no way to control it (besides training yourself to not feel anything, but that’s not very healthy), so to hide it people can wear sunglasses or colored contacts. black, brown and grey are the most popular ones since they’re considered neutral colors (grey is more for when you’re bored, whereas brown/black is for when you’re not specifically feeling anything).
depending on cultures, hiding your eye color(s) can be seen as suspicious, but in others it’s just the social norm and not hiding it is usually for children only. however, the exception everywhere is generally made for celebrities, since media will often obsess about trying to get shots of a popular person with every possible eyecolor.
again depending on cultures, looking at other people’s eyes can be seen as perfectly normal, or as extremely intimate and a sign of trust.
if someone is feeling many emotions at once, their eyes will just keep filling in with more and more colors. usually it’s pretty evenly distributed in both eyes, but some people have heterochromia, which means when they’re feeling a new emotion the color will go in one eye entirely instead of mixing up.
some people’s eye colors don’t change at all. in older times, this was perceived as a sign that the person didn’t have a soul or was evil, and they were generally killed. nowadays, most people know better, but in some cultures it is either still taboo or a sign of bad luck.

trying to get back into drawing regularly
scene miku!!
im finally able to try out inktober this year!! i probably won't follow any official prompts tho, I'm mostly just going by what inspires me
day 1: horns, ft. my dnd character, kizul!
made a voidsona for fun
hi!! sorry if i'm being a bother or you've answered it before, but i was just wondering what kind of brush you use for lineart, specifically from the senber video i just watched! i don't use clip studio paint but i'm trying to get settings or ideas of a brush i can use in my program (procreate) and always love the softer lineart brush other people use but i can't figure it out in my own thing
hello! don’t worry, you’re not a bother at all!
i’m gonna be honest, i hate doing lineart so most of the time i just clean up the sketch a little and call it a day lmao. here’s the brush i use (which i think are the default settings):
i love this brush because it feels like a real pencil, as in the opacity builds up as you trace over it again. i also use this one sometimes, mostly for cleaner lines and such:
here’s an example of what they both look like:
from what i’ve seen, the best softer brushes for lineart are ones found in the “pencil” or “pastel” section (or whatever similar thing you have in your art program). tho, tbh i feel like there’s not a lot of brushes in csp so maybe this is just me struggling to do decent with what i have lmao
i’m not very good with brushes myself so i definitely feel you. i think the best advice i can give you is to find what’s best for you; all artists have a different way of working and we all prefer different stuff, and none of it is better than others! so, experiment with what you have until you find something that feels the most comfortable.
(also something to keep in mind, the lineart won’t look quite the same depending on the canvas. i tend to use very big canvas to draw on, usually size 4000x3500, and then make the final image smaller when posting it on sites and such. but again, do what works best for you!)
hope this helped! feel free to hmu if you have more questions :)
