she was never yours

Hungry.                           A bit cold, but mostly hungry --                 emotions had been shoved out of the                 way to make room for Ophelia's sudden                 intense cravings, which seemed to call                 for fish. Anything, though, would be                 welcomed at this point. Her stomach                 felt thin, and she put a hand against                 it, as if the pressure might calm the                 pain she had gotten as a result of not                 eating very recently.

Though her focus was on her own dis- comfort, she couldn't help but notice someone across the way from her, who seemed to be sneaking around. In fact, she could have sworn she saw him take something from a stranger's pocket, but she wasn't sure if that was just her own imagination.

             Curiosity overwhelmed her, and she              walked over to him, brows furrowed              in confusion.

                  "What are you doing?"

        She is not someone you understand.               She is someone you watch, someone                       you use, someone you mourn.
