FIGHT ME VIMEO!

I was similarly struggling so much with this. I knew I wanted to use the Bee Gee's song, and that I wanted it to be a kind of meeting of characters, but it was just not working at all in the edit.

I think I was trying to make it too big, too conclusive, too summarizingly grand and expansive...and it wanted to be simpler, and just a kind of celebration of character and shadow.

I'm so happy you mentioned Leonora in your post because she is at the heart of mine too! But I will not spoil.

I want to write more, but I have to be up super early tomorrow to go to my friend's bachelor party upstate! But alas, the April muses pull one last trick.

Thank you so much for doing this with me! It was everything: empowering, inspiring, adventuring, stressing (but in a fun way!), thinking, feeling, and always, always exploring. You are the best film comrade to adventure with.

Happy Last Day!

My brain was so blank today! I don't know why! I went from doing a baseball film to a space film to this snow film to an April in retrospect film to an April in retrospect with muppets to back to this snow film because all the other ones weren't working!

I just kind of did it stream of consciously, and I ended up doing The Hillary style!!! I had your films in mind (especially "Taken out of Context (touch grass) and "camera tests // coping")! I just love how you fragment the frame and combine images! This is my little ode to you and your style and to our April adventures!

Another entry in our April Sock Cinematic Universe!

This time...the never-breaking bond of two on-the-run socks...no sock left behind.

I was at the Yankee game (two in one day!) all day today, and didn't get home until lateee, so this is smol and unfinished!

I'm gonna miss smol sundays.

Also! I took metro north to Yankee Stadium, and when I was passing through Harlem, I was like...this looks so familiar. And then I saw the stuffed animal tiger mural, and I went, OH IT'S HILLARY'S SUBWAY FILM! I'M IN IT! It was so cool seeing the original location, and how you translated and transcribed it into your film!

Also also, I'm sad the tints don't work on the leader!!! We shall find a way....or something else that works. The sharpie working and the dotted pattern you made makes me EXCITED!

I was driving a lot today, so I decided to take my camera with me!

Rage redacted...they're back!

I felt like I had one last shadow film in me for April. There's something about Polo & Pan that just triggers these visuals and moods/ideas for me!

I wrote a whole little limerick/non-sense poem for this one....but could not get it to work in the film at all....the film was pushing to be solely visuals and music, and I kept on resisting lol. So, I'm gonna post it in the vimeo description, as a kind of companion.

But because there was almost no on-screen text or voice over, this one was by far the hardest! So much latent late-April doubt to battle through!

I'm curious to see if you can guess which object I'm using for the main character's shadow hehehe
