Here I am in the plane of darkness

Carrying my candle of life

Weak and dim, attacked by the dark

I walk on

Even in this darkness

I encounter others

Carrying single sticks with glowing tips

Soon to loose their light forever

So I hold my candle to their sticks

Sharing some of my sustaining life

I sit in darkness

To give them light

Even when their stick is too damp

And my dim candle isn't enough to light

The tip is brighter then before

And I'm filled with joy

Others carry piles of sticks

Burning bonfires to light their way

No fear of loosing their light

But some sticks refuse to burn

So I hold my candle to their sticks

Sharing some of my sustaining life

I sit in darkness

To give them light

The sticks burn, adding to their light

Not enough for them to notice

But enough for me to see

And I am filled with joy

No matter where I go

No matter the darkness around

No matter the brightness of their light
