2 turnovers ain’t bad…
I didn’t say she played bad. There was a stretch of the game around the time where she thought she got fouled a couple times that I think she was really trying to force some stuff and playing kinda out of control.
Just a weird game all around. Azzi back to being a little too passive on offense. Arike still trying to shoot herself out of that slump. Paige made some pretty uncharacteristic turnovers. Seemed kinda frustrated at some points in the game. Still all wins count the same so I’ll take it.
Alanna smith almost threw away an inbounds pass to Paige in the back court. I’m sorry but until she gets the mask situation figured out she’s basically just a very expensive liability out there

Just to let Juan know when I said I didn’t really think sonnett was working at rb I didn’t mean she shouldn’t be starting. Not sure why we aren’t trying Jess at rb with sonnett and tierna. I feel like that was pretty successful when they were all together before tierna tore her acl. Msy be some lingering injury issues for everyone that will hopefully clear up over the break
If I had a nickel for every time there was a weather delay in an Orlando/louisville/Houston nwsl game in the last couple seasons I’d have at least a dollar, which is a solid amount of nickels ( still glade they aren’t flipping the schedule though)

This was such a nice win for the wings. Showed so much character to be able to fight like this after the loss on Friday and going down early in this game. Also think Jose definitely showed he finally knows what his most effective line up is based on the second half
Alright I’ve seen more than enough. Get the regular starters out. There’s no reason to risk losing another player to injury in this dumb tournament. Also put Ryan in goal (maybe leave sonnett in to yell at her). Hogan isn’t giving us much and is maybe also kinda injured
If you’re Dallas you have to just let this game go. I can guarantee there won’t be another game this season where Paige and arike (and basically everyone) struggle offensively like that at the same time. Overall I thought they showed pretty good resilience up until the last stretch. Also believe the line up changes are coming. As others have said probably after this game in ny on Sunday.

the game was also at an altitude higher than denver and utah and they had 2 days acclimatisation because of the nwsl schedule which would likely mess with their speed and fitness. Plus then the shock of akb (watching jess suddenly sprint off from the huddle with the athletic trainers didn't seem like a great sign 😭)
Yea I didn’t know about the altitude until later I’m sure that did have an effect. Hopefully get an update on akb soon and it’s nothing too serious

I love sonnett but I’m not sure playing on the outside is working for her. Not sure what the solution is when all our defenders are normally center backs and also all mildly injured/coming back from injury.
