“It really is a darn shame,curse me not thinking about that until after it happened.” Michael sighed before chuckling softly. “Eh I’ll always have it etched into my head and a good story to tell others.”He added. “I always tend to offer up help even when it isn’t really needed of me to do so, gotta blame my grandfather for that.”

“Well I’ll keep my eye out, and if it ever happens I’ll try to remember to take a video of it and I’ll get it to you. You can take all the credit,” he chuckled. He nodded his head a bit at the other mans words. “Well of all the faults one could have, that seems pretty decent of you,” he said with a grin. As a remembered his own grandfather, continued. “Granddads. They are something. What are we gonna do with them?” he said, tone his tone held the fondness that he felt towards his grandpa.  

Bruce shot him a look in which to say as if. “Yeah right mate” He shook his head with a roarous laugh. The best of them Bruce knew he was hardly that. His violence and occasional rage told him otherwise. The burden that he carried with him every minute of every day. He did like the heart of gold, if someone so close to him thought it… well… Bruce shook the thought from his head. No use thinking about that sorts of things. “Good you do that.” Bruce knew the playful flirty banter was harmless but he couldn’t help but to think what anyone who might be unfortunate enough to overhear them would think. Then again that was the whole reason he had stayed in America wasn’t it? To be able to not care what other people think? “Yeah yeah yeah” Bruce waved a hand at his best pal with a roll of his eyes. “We know you’re the smart one.” His annoyance was all fake seeing as he was mostly just proud of his friend and his accomplishments. Although it would be nice to win against him in a bet at least once but ya know it gave Bruce a goal to keep reaching for. That is at least how Bruce made himself feel better after every loss anyways. At the offer of a milkshake the Big beautiful Aussie grinned brightly swatting over at Drew with the towel in his hand. You have to smack at least one person when you have a nice clean towel after all, before going to clean up the mess at the table. “Make it something good.” Bruce knew full well everything Drew made was good but he could still give him a run for his money. “Good you better pay me something or I’ll report you for unfair labor.” 

Drew rolled his eyes at his friends laughter at his comment, but let it go. Bruce was always far too hard on himself, in Drews opinion, as Bruce constantly tried to atone for any mistake he may have made in the past. Drew tried to reassure his friend the best to his ability, but he has never been good with the warm fuzzy feelings thing. His brain just tended to work much more logically and pragmatically. So his affection and appreciation tended to be much more subtle. He chuckled slightly at his friends comment, shrugging his shoulder. “You got the beauty, I got the brains. Maybe it’s why we make such a pair,” he teased before letting out a larger laugh as he was swatted with the towel. “Oi! Watch it,” he said, through he had a large grin on his face. Drew was excited he got to try out this new idea for a milkshake, and he got straight to work as Bruce got to work cleaning. “Best hurry, or your milkshake will be melted,” he taunted, playfully. He’d messed around with the recipe along in his kitchen multiple times, and through he thought he got the proportions of the ingredients right, he needed a second opinion potentially putting it on the menu. He placed the milkshake on the counter, almost as soon as Bruce had finished up. “So, two of our best setting milkshakes are s’mores and red velvet. So, I thought I’d see if I could get the best of both words. So this is the Red Velvet S’more milkshake,” he said with a little grin. 

Stephanie knew what she sounded like and yes a milkshake seemed like nothing on a scale from 1 to 10, compared to other things, but to her it would start with a milkshake and possibly escalate from there. She could be wrong about that, but she just didn’t like violence of any kind - even if it was nothing. “I guess, I’m not saying I agree with you on that but I do believe in karma. So, he will probably get what’s coming to him eventually.” She shrugged, half watching the situation and half watching the man behind the bar. “Thank you, but it’s just the way I was brought up.”

Drew let a small little smile come to his face, and he dipped his chin in a little nod. In Drew’s mind he didn’t see how karma couldn’t look like a chocolate milkshake to the face. Again, that felt like getting off pretty easy in his opinion, but felt it better not to argue. “Fair enough. We can agree to disagree, yeah?” He wiped down the counter, while looking over at the other woman. He tilted his head again in thought. “I think at this point in your life, you should take a bit more responsibility, yeah? Lot of people are brought up a certain way, and then make their own decisions about who they want to be. Either for good or bad,” he said thoughtfully. In his case, he was brought up to be much different than he is now. Luckily, he made the decision to be better. “You’re a good person not just because someone taught you to be, but because somewhere along the lines, you made the decision to be.”

Angel had learned to tune out the noise of fighting pretty well in her childhood years. As the man spoke up, her head swiveled to watch the couple he was referring to. Now that she was paying attention, she could pick up bits and pieces of what was happening. “Hell, if she doesn’t, I might do it for her.” 

Drew turned his attention towards the woman sitting at the bar, and raised an eyebrow at her response. “He bloody well does deserve it. If she doesn’t and you do, I’ll give you another milkshake on the house,” he said with a little smirk. 

“Well, that’s nice to have someone like that to go to.” Well, at least she knew what his role was now at the Shake Shack and she didn’t even have to ask him - bonus. Kim nodded, still keeping half her attention on the couple but also listening to the guy behind the bar. Oh God, there it was - the moment. The moment the situation went from bad to worse in ten seconds flat. She couldn’t take her eyes of it and couldn’t stifle the laugh that was coming out, she shouldn’t be laughing but how could she not? It was too funny. She could see the guy turn around and glare in her direction so she shrugged instead, “Oops.” She laughed slightly again, not caring but trying not to bring attention to herself. “Some people can’t take a joke, right?”

“Yeah, he’s the best,” Drew agreed. There were only a handful of people in Drew’s life at the moment that he would drop everything and do anything for. The first person on that list would always be his grandfather. He continued to try and hide his laughter, but raised his eyebrows as the man turned and glared in their direction. “Look’s that way,” Drew agreed with the redhead, before calling out a bit louder. “Oi, mate! Looks like you got a little something on your face. There are more napkins at the table behind ya if you need ‘em.” He man grumbled something unintelligible before he too stormed out of the restaurant. Drew just finally laughed out loud, not bothering to hide it anymore. “Good riddance. Wanker.”

Michael put his own milkshake up to his mouth,trying to mask the laugh that was about to erupt from his lips. Luckily for him he managed to keep it at bay until the man left before he started laughing. “Is is bad of me wanting to have video taped that? Oh man but I think it wouldn’t be as funny watching it on video. If you need any help I could lend a hand or words of encouragement.”He laughed once again.

“Oi, that would have been bloody epic. I reckon you could have gone viral with a video of it. Too bad,” Drew agreed with some residual chuckles before finally getting control over himself again, and grinned. He shook his head and waved off the mans offer. “I appreciate the offer. Couldn’t ask a customer to clean up a mess. I’m sure I kind find someone ‘round here to get it.”

“Why else do you think I took the job? I can’t get mad at them they’re cute and injured. People are annoying. I’d get irritated in an office after ten minutes, and we all know I can barely cook anything more than decent.” He laughed. Drew had always been the cook of the group. Bruce wasn’t awful by any means but he was nowhere near as talented as his friend and he knew it. “Oi any Anchorage can cut the line you know that.” Bruce winked. He wavered between confidence and insecurity but for some reason he always found himself feeling confident around Drew and Caleb maybe it was just the fact that he knew no matter what the other man would love him. He tried to catch the chocolate chip thrown at him in his mouth but he missed so he just shrugged before watching as the woman did in fact spill her milkshake. “Damn you win.” He chuckled taking a towel and slinging it over his shoulder. “Guess I won’t get any slacking off lectures now.”

Drew couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head. Though he knew that his friend did struggle with the occasional anger issues, and the job that he is at is the perfect place for him. “Why else? Maybe ‘cause you got a heart a gold, mate. Everyone knows you’re the best of us” he said with a little grin and a shrug. Drew, Bruce and Caleb made up quite the little group, and though they all had their shortcomings and were doing their best to push past it, everyone knew Bruce was the one with the kindest heart. He was the glue that held them together. He chuckled again at Bruces wink and nodded. “I’ll be sure to pass the message along to Pops,” he teased. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the woman did indeed throw her milkshake and he grinned. “You should know better than to argue against my powers of perception,” he said with his eyebrows raised. “Buuut, because you’re my best mate, I reckon I could you a milkshake anyway when you’re done. Reward you for your hard work.”

“Thanks a lot”He smiled as he got comfortable before he got his food and milkshake,eating some of the fries before the other man spoke up. He was drinking his milkshake when he turned around watching as the chocolate milk went into the man of the couples face. He pulled his milkshake away from his mouth as he tried not to laugh at what had just happened.

Drew shook his head, continuing to stifle his laughter. The man was beautifully outraged and the woman wonderfully smug. The man ended up storming out of the restaurant. When he was gone, Drew finally let out a pretty large laugh. “That was as beautiful in real life as I thought it would be in my head. Through I reckon I should probably clean up that mess of milkshake all over the floor now,” he shook his head, chuckling. 

Kim nodded, she was glad that she wasn’t the only one watching the situation and ready to jump in if needed. “I get that, it’s hard to decide what to do when the situation is like that.” She shrugged, she was glad she didn’t work in a restaurant or anything like that - she probably wouldn’t be able to cope and there was nothing wrong with that. She was able to be patient with people but when their behaviour crossed a line then she had to say and do something. “We’ll just have to see then.” She glanced over and wasn’t sure what way the situation was going yet, “It could go either way - she could decide that it isn’t worth the hassle to throw the milkshake in his face or it is worth it? Just have to wait and see.”

“Most the time I’d just ask Pops, my granddad, what to do. But he’s not in today, which leaves me in charge unfortunately,” he said with a little laugh. “Though how he’s respond would greatly depend on his mood. He can be a bit of a grouch,” she shrugged before turning his attention back towards the couple. “We will just have to see indeed.” And, yup. There it was. Not even a moment later, she had finally had enough. The milkshake went flying in the direction of the man, who looked beautifully put out by it all, and the lady stormed out in a huff. Drew pressed his lips together to try and hide his amusement at the mans obvious outrage. “Bullseye,” Drew said, with a muffled laugh. 

Stephanie never openly spoke about her past unless she trusted the person, which most people proved she couldn’t - which half the time ended up her being talked about in the worst way. She always gave people two many chances, but she believed in the best in people and that was never going to change. She listened to him, nodding at his reply. “I understand that. What I mean is I don’t understand using physical violence because that is never the answer.” She said, sighing. “I agree, you can know someone for years and think you know them then all of a sudden they’re a stranger to you. I think it’s because I like to think the best of everyone, even when they have proved otherwise.”

Drew nodded his head at her response. He could see that. And to an extent, he could agree. Though in his head, he felt like a milkshake to the face was pretty low on the list of things one person could do to another. It is quite possible he’s been fairly desensitized based on his past. “Agreed. Violence most of the time is never the answer. But a wanker like that? I dunno. I reckon he could use a good milkshake to the face. Maybe it’ll be a bit of a wake up call,” he said with a shrug and a little chuckle. “That’s very admirable of you. Not many people are that way. I can’t say I am.”
