Roger takes his time tying Brian down. The restraints are nothing fancy, just their usual fleece-lined cuffs encircling each of Brian’s limbs and stretching him out spread-eagle on their bed, but Roger still checks one with care and precision. He snugs one of his ankle cuffs a little tighter and his eyes flick up to catch Brian’s as he asks, “That feel okay?”

“Keep On Running” is a song written by Jamaican singer-songwriter Jackie Edwards, who as well as having a singer, worked in the UK for Island Records as a songwriter.[2] The song was recorded by Edwards for his album Come on Home, released in 1965, and he recorded it again in the mid-1970s for his album Do You Believe in Love. . It became a hit in the UK for The Spencer Davis Group; their version reached number one in the charts. The song was recorded during the Strange Frontier sessions , but it was omitted from the album for unknown reasons, perhaps because there were already enough covers on the album.

Summary: Freddie’s birthday is quickly approaching… and so is yours. The only problem is that Freddie doesn’t know that, and you don’t particularly want to tell him.

Notes: Happy birthday to Freddie! And also happy birthday to me, because my birthday is also September 5th and as such I have written this absolutely self-indulgent birthday-themed fic as a gift for myself.

You regret the lie the moment that it slips out. You had been hoping that the subject of your birthday would somehow never come up, but with all the preparations for Freddie’s party in full swing it was only a matter of time before he asked you, “Oh, darling, by the way, when’s your birthday?” and when he did you just panicked.

“Oh, ah- May. May 14th,” you tell him… except that’s not really your birthday at all.

Freddie pouts a little. “So I have to wait half a year to spoil you rotten?”

You for a laugh and lean in to kiss the corner of his mouth. “You say that as if you don’t spoil me rotten every day of the week anyway.”

“Well, I can’t help it when I have a gorgeous boyfriend like you,” Freddie says. He catches you around the waist before you can pull away and kisses you properly, and you let yourself melt against him a little as the lie fades from your thoughts.

Something in Brian’s face must give him away because Roger drops the shirt he’s been holding. “No!”

“What?” Brian demands.

“Freddie?  Tim’s mate?“

“(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame” is a song recorded by Elvis Presley and released on August 8, 1961 in a double-sided A single with “Little Sister” , and that continued the success of “I Feel So Bad”, the song that had brought Elvis Presley back to the world of rock and roll.

This track was written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman and originally recorded by Del Shannon on the album ‘Runaway with Del Shannon’ , which was released in June 1961.

I just posted the first chapter of my Maycury Teachers AU fic over on ao3, for those of you who are interested. I’ll not be posting this fic on tumblr, but I’ll be sure to let you know when I update.

Summary: When Brian May accepts a temporary teaching job at Stockwell Manor Comprehensive to help make ends meet, he feels like he’s bitten off more than he can chew. Having to deal with disobedient and unmotivated teenagers, on top of struggling through his PhD and trying to make it with his band Smile, turns out to be more difficult than expected. And then there’s his new colleague, the charismatic art teacher Freddie “Mercury” Bulsara whom Brian somehow can’t stop thinking about.
