I'm Daniel Collins. I am 22 and from the UK. In your work Mar 6- I really love the raw colors and line in your art style. In one piece where a girl climbs up the mountain and it is a CU shot looking down at the girl's face with sea and the island below. I want to ask as I am curious, what medium, or brushes do you use to achieve the result of the art style here?? Many Thanks, loving your stuff. I am curious on how you got into the comic industry, and what qualities you need to be successful?
Hey, Daniel - So sorry itâs taken me so long to respond to this. Iâve kind of abandoned Tumblr as a platform for original comics, so I rarely check my âaskâ inbox. Anyway... thanks so much for ht kind words! Iâm so glad you enjoed the comic. As far as my style goes: for Oyster War I used only dip pens. I was trying to emulate the look of early 20th century newspaper comics. I used  G-pen for my outlines and a zebra nib for the hatching. As for how to get into the industry and how to be successful: be passionate about comics, read and analyse comics you enjoy, and--most important--always be producing work.Â
