let’s all quit our jobs and just go on walks
Mandi manzil is my temple, normal mandi my prayer and milk cake for dessert my salvation.
Kindness is healing.
It felt impossible to forgive. I hated them, cut them off, and vented about it. But no matter what I did, it was never enough. Now, lying flat on my bed, staring at the fan spinning above me, I realize it’s okay. I won’t forgive them out loud, but in my heart, I will. In my mind, I see my hands holding their face, wiping away their tears, and with a soft kiss on their cheek, telling them it’s okay. Because for me, love is kindness, and kindness is healing. And sometimes, the only way to love someone is to be a stranger.
“If you hold a gun and I hold a gun, we can talk about the law. If you hold a knife and I hold a knife, we can talk about rules. If you come empty-handed, and I come empty-handed, we can talk about reason. But if you hold a gun and I only have a knife, then the truth lies in your hand. If you have a gun and I have nothing, then what you hold in your hands isn’t just a weapon, it’s my life."
The concepts of law, rules, and morality only hold meaning if they are based on equality. The harsh truth of this world is that when money speaks, truth goes silent, and when power speaks, even money takes three steps backwards. Those who create the rules are often the first to break them for rules are chains for the weak and tools for the strong.
In this world, anything good must be fought for, The masters of the game are fiercely competing for resources, while the weak sit idly waiting to be given a share.”
Mao’s speech for Human Provincial Committee, 1927.

“Maybe the happy ending is you continuing to be the soft, loving person that you are despite the way the world has tried to defeat you. Maybe it is a calm nervous system, a peacefulness that cannot be threatened. Maybe the happy ending is you moving on, is you giving yourself the love you never got but always wanted. Maybe the happy ending is you embracing change, is you going in the direction of the things that grow you and move you and magnify your spirit.”
- BiancaSparacino
The Brazen Bull- A torture device which first killed its own creator.
The Brazen Bull was invented by Perillus and presented to Phalaris, the cruel and tyrannical ruler of Acragas. It was a torture device- a hollow bronze sculpture of a bull in which victims were locked and placed over flames, roasting them alive. The acoustics were designed so that the victim’s screams came out through the bull’s head, mimicking a bellowing bull. To test the device, Phalaris ordered Perillus himself to climb inside. Perillus started screaming, but it wasn’t enough to impress the king. Phalaris ordered to light fire beneath the bull. Only then he was finally satisfied.
There is nothing very odd about lambs disliking birds of prey, but this is no reason for holding it against large birds of prey that they carry off lambs. And when the lambs whisper among themselves, “These birds of prey are evil, and does this not give us a right to say that whatever of the opposite of a bird of prey must be good?”, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with such an argument- though the birds of prey will look somewhat quizzically and say, “We have nothing against these good lambs; in fact, we love them; nothing tastes better than a tender lamb.”
- Friedrich Nietzsche
I lost all my chats just now. Currently feeling like a significant part of me got ripped off.

ps: this is a joke
Teach Me.
Teach me how to deal with the tormenting indecisiveness of life. They say choice is the only cure. But even to choose is a choice and to not choose is a choice too. No escape from the consequences whatsoever.
The Fig Tree.
"I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet."
-Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar.
"If familiarity mattered,
Water wouldn't boil fish,
The sea wouldn't drown sailors,
Nor fire betray its own kiss.
If closeness meant mercy,
Storms would spare the trees,
The sun would cradle deserts,
And wounds would bloom with ease.
But nature holds no promise,
Nor does fate shed a tear,
For even the shore,
though it loves the waves,
Watches them disappear.
If love alone could save,
The night would shelter the stars,
The thorn would soften for roses,
And scars would cradle our scars."
“I don’t care if I am in a state of contradiction; I don’t want to be a philosophical genius. I don’t even want to be a genius at all, for I have enough trouble just being a man.”
— Albert Camus, Notebooks, 1942-1951

dostoevsky's manuscripts
Selfish?
Was it so selfish of me to not want my whole life to be an act of letting go? For once, I wasn't scared. I wanted to hold on to something, to belong, to arrive somewhere and never have to leave.
But yeah, I guess it was selfish.
