“i do. i absolutely love a good ball.” the blonde beamed at the other. “well i’m glad teddy pulled you out there. but guess what?” victoire was far from done dancing the night away, and she had every intention of dragging the red head out onto the dance floor again. “time to to dance again.”

“well i think it’s a pretty good ball so far,” she chuckled with a look around. she smiled and nodded. “yeah. stupid puppy dog eyes can get me to do almost anything,” she replied. she tilted her head and narrowed her eyes playfully. “oh good gracious,” she laughed, letting her cousin drag her out again.

“lils!” the blonde called out as she made her way into the white house. victoire had always loved any sort of event. and anything that gave her a reason to get dressed p and dance was fun to her. “are you enjoying the night so far?”

lily turned, a bright smile making its way onto her face. “vic!” she said excitedly. she moved towards her cousin. “hey yeah it’s fun. even let teddy pull me out on to the dance floor,” she said, smoothing her long black dress down. “how about you? you love these kinds of things, right?” 

“You know you want to…” He teased with the crinkle of his nose, giving a little shimmy of his hips before letting out a loud HOLLER when she agreed, “WOO HOO! Consider it gone!” Teddy wasted no time in grabbing her hands and dragging her onto the dance floor, “This is precisely why you’re my favorite. Should I whip out the High School Musical moves?”

lily gave him a pointed and knowing look but couldn’t stop the smile from tugging her lips upward at his antics. she let out a laugh as he pulled her towards the dance floor. “well i’m your favorite cause i’m the most awesome. duh. gosh no. teddy i’ve got high heels on,” she laughed. 

“COME on…Join me for ONE dance!” The perfected Lupin puppy pout was already gracing its way onto his features, bottom lip S T I C K I N G out and lashes batting, “Pretty please?” Outstretching his hand toward the other, “I promise to have you back in ONE piece.”

“teddy come on,” she whined, though she was probably going to humor him. of course. stupid teddy pout. lily let out a dramatically sigh. “fine, fine. you win. just....put that pout away,” she laughed, shaking her head.

“aunt ginny’s here too, but she’s our age. and she only remembers up to like… the battle of hogwarts, i think.” rose shook her head, her face dropping. “i don’t know. this place is weird, lil. it does things to people that i can’t explain. it’s got to be some serious dark magic.” she shrugged. “that’s what i mean. i’ve been here for months, but no one back home realized i was missing because we’re all pulled from different points in the timeline.”

“okay awesome. i think i’m just....gonna pass out and hope this is all a complete dream because i’m stressed about all my trainings back home,” she said sarcastically. she wasn’t sure how to cope with all this. “i don’t like it and i want to go home. who do you think has the power to do this?” she asked. “great. now my head’s spinning.”

“neither have i, but i don’t see why it couldn’t be possible.” she had been turned human, after all, nothing was impossible.

“i don’t know a spell that can make doppelgangers,” she said simply with a sigh. “this whole thing is just....” lily took a deep breath. “i’m lily. by the way.”

she returned the hug, overjoyed that she had another cousin with her that remembered. “so did i at first, but dom is here too. so is albus, but he doesn’t remember anything about any of us.” she replied, stepping back slightly to look at her cousin. “a couple months back. it’s been a while.”

“yeah? dom’s here too? is anyone else?” she asked hurriedly before her heart sunk. “what....what do you mean al doesn’t remember us? how can he not remember? we’re his family.” she needed her brother. she didn’t know how to handle him not remembering her. “i feel like i just saw you though. have i been studying that long? this whole thing is too weird.”

“it is… i’ve seen twins before, but i know i don’t have one… how is this possible?”

“yeah i’ve seen twins too. i don’t know. magic i guess. but i’ve never seen this kind of magic before.”

Though the Wotter’s weren’t TECHNICALLY his family, a fact that he reminded himself everyday, they were the closest thing he had to such and in return, with E A C H of them he felt an undeniable protective and brotherly love. (Well perhaps, not so brotherly when it came to JAMES) “How are you, love? How long have you been here?” Teddy himself had only been here a couple of months but due to his curious and reckless nature, he was exploring and housing with strangers. “Oh yeah! He made her cry. I never let him live that down. Yeah? Not getting into TOO much trouble without me, are you?”

lily had always thought of teddy as part of the family. there hadn’t been a time in her life when he hadn’t been there. and he’d always looked after her like her brothers had. it had just been natural. “better now that i know at least you and rosie are here. i was all alone! only a few days. and yes i was very confused when i got here,” she told him with a slight pout. lily had always loved teddy’s tendency to be impulsive and curious, something that tended to match her own. “i remember. he would always roll his eyes at you. talk about awkward first kiss. not without you of course. i was just waiting for one of my favorite partners in crime.”

“tell them, or it, that. not me.” laura sighed, shrugging her shoulders. “yeah, 2018. i unfortunately get it. thought i knew crazy. not til i woke up here.” she pauses for a moment. “i’m laura.” she wasn’t exactly sure if she could trust this girl, but for now, introducing herself probably wouldn’t hurt. probably. she holds out a hand with bandages wrapped over the knuckles.

“i would if i could figure out what or who that would be,” she replied with a nod. she’d have no trouble telling whoever it was off. she wasn’t half weasley for nothing. “weird and crazy and completely trippy are the words that come to mind,” she said. lily offered a small smile. “i’m lily,” she said, taking the other girl’s hand. “geez you get into a fight or something?” 

His grin further widened at the sight of the youngest Potter, not wasting ANY time in wrapping his arms around her and pulling her in for a classic Teddy Bear Hug, “Lilu!” He exclaimed, picking her up and spinning her with a chuckle, “I was merely making an observation! Nothing more. Did your Dad have his first S N O G under mistletoe?”

lily let out a laugh as he quickly wrapped his arms around her small frame, picking her up and spinning her around as if everything was normal. the familiar gesture and nickname made her feel better instantly. “teddy bear!” she exclaimed. she laughed again. “he did. with, uhm, cho chang. oh i’m so glad you’re here.”

of course this city wasn’t ideal, nothing about this situation was something that ginny was completely comfortable with, but there was no use in sulking about it anymore. she’d been here for nearly a year now, and there was no good sitting around feeling sorry for yourself and the people you missed. of course she thought about her family every day, about harry and hermione, neville and luna.. but she had a job now, her quidditch practices to look forward to.. it at least gave her something, anything to focus on but home. but as a voice hit her ears, someone calling out mum, ginny turned, looking at the other redhead, confusion clear on her face. “uh, right, i think you’ve got me mixed up with someone else, mate. i’m no ones mum. ‘specially not someone practically my age.”

lily’s heart sunk. even if it had been a long shot, she had hoped that maybe her mother would recognize her. that she would have all the right memories and remember who lily was. that was unfortunately not the case. lily let out a sigh. “you don’t...you are my mum. but....later in your life i guess. but i recognize you from the pictures of you and dad and uncle ron and aunt hermione all over the house. i’m lily. i know this sounds crazy but i swear that this is the truth. you’re ginny weasley. well. now i guess you are. you have 5 older brothers. you’re best friends with aunt hermione and luna.”

“Would you look at that…” Brown hues glistening as looked up, “Mistletoe.” A soft chuckle emits from his lips as he runs a hand through permanently unruly locks, “Isn’t there some sort of muggle rule where we’d be required to snog or something?”

lily turned when she heard the familiar voice. “teddy?” she asked softly before a smile lit her face. “teddy!” she exclaimed before hurrying over to him. “oh i am so happy to see you,” she added. she then looked up at the mistletoe before pushing him playfully, pink dusting her cheeks. “oh, shut up you.”

“that is rather unfortunate.” the brunette looked at the other. “it does seem as of late that this town isn’t quite right.”

lily almost snorted. “that’s an understatement,” she muttered with a sigh. “right. this is just....i don’t even know,” she admitted.
