“It’s not even the end of December yet, man.”

“…Guess I’m glad it’s not just me though.” Although now he’ll have to wear his winter gear properly. That’s gonna suck. He might not be super affected by cold weather, but it’s still an inconvenience when he has to walk everywhere most of the time now!

Amusement befalls behind the mask. It wasn’t quite the end of December, no, but spring was around the corner and would be present before anyone realized it. They just needed to get through January first. 

“… …”

“Is it getting colder lately, or am I imagining it?”

   “I…” His voice doesn’t even seem to be the same; the femininely soft tone of the bubbly and curious woman he’d seen before. It’s different and he can’t cope with this. This, and the fact that he feels…he just generally feels more. Great distress at being put in a vulnerable situation again–being powerless. It’s difficult to even navigate this form, even though it moves about the same. But he feels so weak compared to what he’s accustomed to. Of course, that comes with being spirited to a different body. It doesn’t mean he has to fucking accept it. “I’m not this woman!! I’m not–what’s her name. Lemon!!”

The rise in panic confuses him for a moment, and he silently waits to see if there’s a further conclusion or answer. When it doesn’t come and the declaration is all that hangs in the air, he exhales, musing to himself. Luckily, he knew the host’s personality. She was a flowery girl, always level headed and giving. In times of panic, she didn’t seem as if she would be in denial and unsure about who she was; though he only knew the surface level of who she was. Maybe something had happened. Regardless, he remains where he is, collected.

    “What the hell is this!? I’m gonna tear that f**king cat apart!!”

“Oh no?” Well of course that gets Clint curious and tells him what he’s looking at now was a mask. He takes a step back, hands on his hips, and looks over the other as if a slightly different perspective would help. Well it could in other situations.

The tone of humor doesn’t escape his hearing aids. “Ha so you’re saying you were even more attractive? Cause you got some looks even right now.” Hey, Clint was into well.. everything, and he did love giving compliments. It was always more about personality anyway and this guy seemed pretty cute. 

At the question he gives a shrug. “I don’t do much anymore to be honest with you. Not feeling to uh… inspired..  you could say.” His demeanor drops as he gives a sigh and rubs the stubble on his chin. “So… nothing special.. kinda feel like when yer hear so long sometimes you just stop carin…” It was a little too much to reveal, unintended. So he shakes it off and gets to a different topic. “So you like to stalk people or what? Just watchin in the night?”

Several years back, he would have grown defensive at Clint’s stance and eyes on him. Untamed and disgusted with himself, with what his body had become-- his sword would have been drawn, then thrust out no questions or consideration taken into account. Now, despite being on spot and feeling the crawling sensation of a slightly awkward position, his sword remains against his spine, not once being thought about. 

“I do not think you are seeing clearly.” Whilst he was aware the average children and teens found his armored, robotic frame to be aesthetically pleasing and the superhero type they dreamed of; adults never found him as visually appealing. Still, that wasn’t the main concern of what information he was receiving. “Yes, inspiration can be difficult to find.” Clint’s expression and body language seemed to be dripping, almost as if it were border lining depressive. Which wasn’t something he liked to see. Not because it was bad, but because it was sad. The world was difficult, people needed guidance; he, himself just wanted them to be happy and live their lives to the fullest. 

“Even if you have changed the subject, I will not let it go so easily.”

“…One of these?” He gives the stranger a look of disbelief, at first wondering if he’s referring to the ones in his mouth, before assuming he’s probably referring to the box. And when has it ever occurred to him to share? Finishing the sticks, he looks into the box and pulls out another handful to eat. Then, he shrugs and offers the pocky box.

He waits. Then continues to wait. Though he didn’t expect anything to be given to him and would have offered his version of farewell-- the box is offered out to him. Naturally he takes it, holding it between fingers as he glances down to its pattern, then returns his visor’s vision to him. “Thank you.” Are the words that he expresses at first, before he starts to actually give a laugh, unable to hold it in. It’s not often it happens with him, but the sheer awkwardness of the situation and the fact that he received a box was too humorous to pass up a moment of amusement with.

      don’t fear, the medjed are here. here’s one right now, offering him a stick of pocky between its toes and a vacant look in its eyes.

Holding a box of pocky that was snatched up from whatever celebration, he curiously eats one of them. Deciding it’s actually pretty good, a few more are snatched from the box. Three strawberry biscuit sticks are jutting from his teeth as he makes aggressive eye contact. What the hell are you looking at?
