QuickChange my beloved<33 He resides in his own universe and has a whole story separate from (but vaguely inspired by) my own experience. His universe is called Act Quick AU and it was created with the help from Eve (@eve13acatty)๐ซถ Outside of this universe, I frequently use him to represent me in the art community therefore he's my persona now. You can call me QuickChange if you want to but I use Nemo more often!
QuickChange's clothing style reflects my own - I try to be fancy and casual with it. I had a dream last night where SnAIder just... drew him, so here we are.
Snyder/SnAIder primarily works with ink and watercolor, but I couldn't remember the exact combination they used for Goldstar, so I made two possibilities.

I have been itching to redraw the old version for so long. The original is from December 2024 which makes it almost 1 and a half year old now. Damn... But I was quick to start disliking it. Something about the pose and anatomy felt very off. And I've been wanting to redraw it for (I'm guessing) a year. What took me so long?
The pose.
Ohhhh my god that pose๐ญ I don't even know why I couldn't ever draw a good pose to get started with... And I HAVE tried. Many times. I really have. I can give proof. But not one of those poses stuck with me and motivated me to finish it. Until...
Yeah I changed it quite a bit in digital. That's what I do. I can't be consistent ever๐
And the rest is history :) I tried to replicate the style I used to draw DSID QuickChange and I think I nailed it!! Definitely a high-effort and very time-consuming style to use, but it was DEFINITELY worth it.
Something else is worth mentioning however. Where did I get the motivation? The original took me a month because I procrastinated. This one was done within a week I think?? While I also had exams?? What gives???
Well. It's a special occasion. I have been reblogging my older Set It Off related artworks lately for a reason. Just to remind you of the love I have for this band and their music. From how great their songs are for jamming to and singing, to how they genuinely helped me through some tough times, whether it be stress from exams or straight up falling out with a friend. They helped me handle it all. That's why I keep drawing my persona in forms inspired by their songs/albums.
But this one... it was inspired by a very exciting moment.

So in honor of getting tickets to the concert of my absolute favorite band, I had to draw a Big Piece :) Parasite is a song from their newest self-titled album, but it came out a long time before the album (like 2 years earlier?). It was, also, the song that made me check more of their stuff. Beyond just Wolf in sheep's clothing and I'll sleep when I'm dead (which you might also recognise even if you're not a fan of SIO). And the more songs I heard, the more I loved them.
So I am so beyond happy to be going to their concert :))) and YOU WON'T HEAR THE END OF IT๐ซต๐ซต๐ซต
Well I hope you enjoy this art, I still do have to prepare for exams... But I had an absolute blast working on this drawing anddddd I hope this post makes sense because I'm not entirely Normal in the head rn/lh
One last thing. Please do not make suggestive comments about the character. I know he's shirtless, but I am not comfortable receiving such comments. Besides, the character is based on me, a sex-repulsed aroace. Please respect this request.

Humans are pretty prone to mimicking noises. like even subconsciously. sometimes we even unintentionally pick up entirely different accents. and you literally can't tell me you've never meowed or woofed or chirped back at a cat/dog/bird at least once in your life (unless you are physically/audibly unable to do so).
So Grace 1000% starts picking up and mimicking Eridian noises.
One day, Rocky will be working on something, only to freeze as he hears Grace behind him suddenly exclaim in fluent Eridian "SHIT!"
Turns out Eridian swear words are usually expressed in the same decibel that humans can whistle in.

Ryland Grace who has a swear jar in his classroom, and every time a kid swears, they have to put their name in and when he asks a question and no one raises their hand to answer, he'll draw a name from the jar. It's really discouraged his kids from swearing.
This art is from last year's pride and I still love it so much (you may have noticed I changed my profile picture). I think it was around this time that I decided to identify as aroace after several years of going as unlabelled and questioning. As for my gender, I've been openly trans since 2021 and next month will be 2 years since I started HRT :DD
I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life all thanks to my transition. Transitioning didn't exactly save my life, but it sure let me have one. I'm proud of who I am now and I hope you all are too!! Happy pride month to all my sisters, brothers and gender-nonconforming siblings<33

11. Which poet do you like more: Alexander or Bonobot?
That is an interesting question and the one I never thought about... I can't say I really paid much attention to poets in the game which is a shame.
I'm currently replaying to catch all these details so I might soon form a different opinion, but I'll have to go with Bonobot for now, judging by quotes alone. His commentary on Neco definitely earns him more points because I despise this company, it's nice to hear it hehe. A little sad that he doesn't seem too fond of the cat though.
19. Favorite badge?
I have two answers. One is based on the badge's design and the other on the challenge you have to complete to earn it.
My favorite based on the challenge behind it is easily the music badge! I really enjoyed running around the Slums looking for music sheets and I absolutely LOVED hearing Morusque play from them!! He's good company :)) I'm also very glad there's a sleeping spot next to him (and.. it took me quite a while to realise that, if you lay there while he's playing a song. he'll just. play it on loop until you stop resting. and I felt rather stupid for that because I'd always do that and wonder why he wasn't stopping๐ญ Not the sharpest tool in the shed). But I do wish you could ask him to replay some sheets after you find them all... That would've been so cool I think.
Based on the design, I'll have to go with Neco's badge. Pretty ironic, but they don't deserve to have that flower as their symbol... The design is fire though I'll have to give them that. If only they put as much effort into doing their job as they did into making that badge

I was going to make a list, but then i realized this is a good time to share this book
Making Stuff and Doing things is a whole collection of old punk DIY zines about making and doing just about anything, even things you probably never knew you wanted to do.
Book binding? In there.
Making bowls from old vinyl records? I made a whole ton for my brotherโs grad party last year.
Basics of guitar? Making rubber stamps? Silk screening? Composting? Homemade beer, root beer, and wine? Soymilk?? Quill pens??? All in there.
Since itโs more punk, it doesnโt have a ton of the folksy, cottage vibes/hobbies, but itโs all about being resourceful and sustainable, which they both have in common.
If i ever need to do anything Iโm not sure of, I double check this book to see if thereโs anything in there. Itโs one of the only books on diy Iโve ever needed.

I swear I tried to focus on the canon only at first, given I only just joined the fandom. But I saw way too many cool ocs and as a result, had to make my own๐ crying noises.
ANYWAYSS :33 everyone, welcome Kiran!! they're a resident of the Slums, biology nerd (wonder where they got that from/j) and NOT an Outsider (yet). I was inspired by a microscope for their design, and figured fluorescence microscopy would make for a really cool screen for a Companion. So here we are :D
More details below cut, get ready for a long one
Kiran is slightly shorter than an average Companion, which they still manage to take advantage of. With a great sense of balance and depth perception, Kiran has picked up parkouring, though not exactly as just a hobby. They're prone to running away and/or hiding at any sign of danger and, in the Slums, getting to a high ground quickly is mandatory for survival in areas already taken over by Zurks. Now, what on earth is Kiran doing in the Dead city?
They figured the best way to fight their fear is to learn about the thing they're afraid of, starting with the Zurks. This will eventually lead to them working alongside Doc to figure out their weakness.
A HOLE IN THEIR HAND WHY??
As Kiran became a frequent visitor to the Zurk-infested areas, they also became a common patient for the only surgeon in the Slums. All the replaced parts were due to Zurk attacks, since there have been many not-so-successful expeditions into the Dead city. Most of their parts have been replaced only once ("only". And don't bring up my spelling, I forgot to check how Theseus is spelled๐ญ), except for their hands. In fact, they've been losing their hands to the Zurks so often that the surgeon had grown sick of replacing them. This she decided to prevent in the only logical way to do so - give them two left hands.
(behold, a chemistry joke. I'd completely forgotten about chirality and ESPECIALLY that it was called like that, until this week's organic chem lecture. This is to say, Kiran's name sounding very close to 'chiral' was NOT intentional)
This was quite effective in slowing them and their recklessness down a bit, as having two left hands was incredibly disorienting for them (even though they're ambidextrous). It wasn't long before Doc noticed this and decided "absolutely the hell NOT, we are FIXING THAT HAND"
And fix it he did. But...
As he repositioned all the fingers, there was a massive hole left in the former thumb's place, exposing the internal mechanisms which Doc unfortunately didn't have the resources to cover up. This spot is incredibly sensitive and Kiran prefers to have it wrapped in a double layer of thick fabric. And I promise you nothing bad will ever happen about this :)))
CLOTHES INSPO AND FUNCTION
What may have already been evident is that their clothes are heavily inspired by - surprise surprise - Clementine's outfit!! Clem is a close friend of theirs, and somebody they look up to. But realising they will never be as strong, resilient and brave as she is, Kiran went on to adjust their outfit in a way that ensures their escape. Sort of. Clem's style was still the main inspo (even if not intentionally. But hey, it's a poncho, not a scarf, so you can't sue me/j)
The bandages on their legs and arm serve a purpose, which is not covering up sensitive areas, only the hand bandages do that. The rest serve mainly as a second chance in case any Zurks latch onto their limbs - they will first have to bite through the bandages, which will give Kiran a couple more seconds to react before their limbs get damaged again. And as a plus, the bandages give them an "emergency tape", in case they need to tie something up while on the go.
MICROSCOPE AND BINOCULARS
Their binoculars indeed function and aren't just a head decor :) Depending on the adjustment (done via the knobs on the sides of their head - like with real microscopes), they can function as binoculars or as microscope (only the left eyepiece can switch though. The right one closes up when in microscope mode). Due to this duality, their binoculars/microscope aren't as powerful as the real counterparts, but are effective enough for Kiran's needs.
PERSONALITY AND MOTIVES
Kiran is one of the more cheerful bots in the Slums. Since deciding to deal with their fear of the unknown by learning about the threats, their existence gained a meaning. While they don't enjoy living in such a devestated environment, they don't believe there's a better option beyond the walls of the city - they're not an Outsider. So they make the best of it in the Slums and the Dead city.
They've turned their fear of the unknown into curiosity ((this doesn't make them fearless)). The more they learned about the Zurks (and the Outside that once was), the more invested they became, leading to excitement upon new discoveries and eagerness to share them with everyone. They became known for their expressiveness and dedication to their research. Kiran is very social, extroverted and has made friends with nearly everybody in the Slums. At the very least, they're easily recognized by all the residents.
They ended up "joining" the Outsiders due to their extensive knowledge about it and the Zurks. While everybody considered them an Outsider, Kiran themselves didn't believe the Outside has recovered from the disaster that the humans left it in. But after one specific "argument" wandered into the Slums, they started to change their beliefs.
