Since I'm new here I thought I'd do a pin post so people could better understand what I'm up to and what to expect (cats and bags and all that), so:
My name is Lana and I'm from Ukraine. This is important cus, as you all (I hope), know, there's an ongoing war in my country and me, my family and a lot of my friends are direct victims of russia's agression and imperialism. I was under blockade and occupation, my entire hometown was ruined completely. I have PTSD, so I am very insistently asking russians and their apologists, h*ated r*valry fans, communists etc to stay away from me. I get reminded of your existence every single day with missiles, air alerts, power outages and obituaries, and I want to have peace at least in fandom spaces.
Getting back to fandom topics: I am mainly in the Supernatural fandom, Castiel is my favorite character, like, ever, and I am a Destiel monoshipper (at least in a sense that they totally outshine any other options these two could have lol)
Some of my other favorite duos/characters: Castiel&Balthazar (we should talk about them more bruh!!!), Castiel&Crowley, Dean&Crowley, Dean&Charlie, Michael&Adam, Dean&Benny, Bobby&Rufus, Bobby&Crowley, Claire&Dean&Castiel, Rowena wherever she exists, she's automatically perfect ๐, whatever people say but I actually liked Mary, exactly because she wasn't perfect; I like Gabriel, and adore Jack and Eileen!!
I do Not like Meg, though, she is a serial sexual assaulter and I think characters like this do not deserve redemption arcs (especially as poorly written as hers); the same goes to Becky and Lucifer. Wincest and all the similar dni as well!!

no ok. sorry. much of supernatural is depressing and fucked up but not for the reasons the writers think it is or not only for the reasons they intended. and im a big fan of stories about characters who are aware they are trapped in a narrative but usually they are able to escape or at least are Hopeful for escape. but in supernatural there is no escape. they just get eaten by the narrative. and the THING. is that i donโt know if the writers can even conceptualize what escaping the narrative might look like aside from โWe Stop Telling The Story.โ death isnโt escape. a nuclear family til death isnโt escape. like even when i remove all the unseen and deleted and unaired and edited factors from the finale it is nothing. itโs not catharsis itโs not closure!! itโs farcical!!! because they wrote themselves into a corner they werenโt willing to deconstruct so they just gave up
the people i hate are like โdean is so fucked up and toxic he loves killing and maiming and violenceโ and he literally doesnt. thats his day job. he LOVES making blueberry galettes for his husband and children.ย

I guess it's been too long since the last time I voiced how much I hate heated rivalry and that it's a blatant russian propaganda, and if you don't realize how it's a propaganda then congratulations, you fell for the said propaganda.
It's set LITERALLY when the invasion of Crimea was happening (not to mention russia's earlier invasions of other countries), mc's father is a FUCKING MILITARY GENERAL and the show says NOTHING about how much russia is an imperialistic piece of shit and only focuses on a convenient issue of homophobia that is very nicely allows them to a) appeal to western leftists, while their actual politics appeal to western conservatives, b) make y'all sympathetic towards poor innocent russians and c) make it seem like they Are criticizing the country without addressing the actual MORE IMPORTANT issues, brushing them uder the rug. Not to mention how homophobia isn't a country-specific problem so if they actually wanted to criticize it in relation to russia they'd had to criticize moscowian patriarchy church, which is the main source of it and that's ALSO heavily intervined with every aspect of their inner politics and by extension external as well (before the full-scale invasion and to this fucking day somehow this church still has influence in Ukraine too btw)
And with all of that, what else cast is doing out there? Insinuate Ukrainian Odesa is russian, while for YEARS russians have been trying to occupy and claime this city as theirs, and as it's not working they're bombing it heavily almost daily since 2022. And you people can whine however much you want about it not being serious, but the sheer amount of people furiously defending and glazing and sympathizing with russians, while hating Ukrainians, that this show has caused is a proof in itself of how well its propaganda is working. All the while, the mere mention of israel anywhere in media gets a huge ass hate train for whoever is guilty. Plain hypocrisy.
i know we all know cas is dean's colette but like. they literally invented a wife for cain of the BIBLE just to compare cas to colette when they could've instead focused on cain and abel especially since they love to make the show about Only The Brothers. but no instead we have cain explain in detail how colette was the only thing to keep him tethered to sanity and he was able to fight the mark of cain when she begged him to stop. then the show was like now let's watch that exact scene play out between dean and cas as cas asks dean to stop and THEN the Power of Love prevents dean from killing cas. i'm frothing at the mouth
As much as I love trope of people being surprised Dean and Cas are married because they don't wear rings, realistically speaking I think we all should agree that once they've got those rings they don't take them off like Ever. And they're on the most visible place too. Actually I think they would shove their hands to everybody's faces bragging what an awesome husband they've got
I know this is a question that they'd never answer, but I think it would be interesting to ask the actors which writers they felt understood their characters the most and which the least
